THE WASTE PLASTIC PROBLEM

• The world produces 300m tons of plastic per annum

• > 40% is disposed of within the 1st year post manufacture

• 1 trillion plastic bags are discarded each year

• Plastic makes up > 40% all landfill site (LFS) volume

• Plastic in LFS`s can take up to 1,000 years to degrade!

• Waste plastic is the worlds biggest environmental waste problem

Page 3: THE WASTE PLASTIC PROBLEM The world produces 300m tons of plastic per annum > 40% is disposed of within the 1 st year post manufacture 1 trillion plastic

THE OIL PROBLEM

• Oil is the basis of most modern energy, and the largest source of global energy (33%)

• More than 95% of all economically recoverable crude oil (using conventional methods) has now been found

• Oil consumption is outpacing discovery

• Global demand is >100m barrels per day - & on the increase(driven by the expanding economies of China & India)

• The world’s car fleet will triple by 2050!

• Oil prices have quadrupled over the past two decades

• Future price spikes will become the norm

Page 4: THE WASTE PLASTIC PROBLEM The world produces 300m tons of plastic per annum > 40% is disposed of within the 1 st year post manufacture 1 trillion plastic

THE LINK …. THE OPPORTUNITY

• Plastic bags & related items are produced from polymers derived from petroleum & gas

• Just 9 plastic shopping bags contain enough embodied petroleum energy to drive a motor vehicle 1 km

• ECI recover Oil, produce Fuels, and can generate Electricity from waste plastic feedstock

Page 5: THE WASTE PLASTIC PROBLEM The world produces 300m tons of plastic per annum > 40% is disposed of within the 1 st year post manufacture 1 trillion plastic

ENERGY RECOVERY via PYROLYSIS

Pyrolysis is the chemical process of separating materials into their constituent parts, via the rapid thermal decomposition of molecular compounds:

•under pressure

•at high temp

•in the absence of oxygen

… to produce solids, liquids & gas

The main component of plastic is oil

ECI Pyrolysis Technology recovers Oil from waste plastic

Page 6: THE WASTE PLASTIC PROBLEM The world produces 300m tons of plastic per annum > 40% is disposed of within the 1 st year post manufacture 1 trillion plastic

PYROLYSIS OIL

• DefinitionPyrolysis oil is a synthetic fuel - a hydrocarbon liquid recovered

via the de-polymerisation of plastic waste.

ECI produced oil is rated by refinery clients as ”premium grade sweet crude“.

• Applications Used by refineries to produce Diesel, other Fuels & a range of

Petroleum Products.

Although ECI produced Oil could also be used as a heating / fuel source in boilers, furnaces, diesel pumps, electric generators and the like. A considerably more attractive Value-Proposition presents in the refining context.

WASTE MANAGEMENT & ENERGY RECOVERY (Oil & Gas) TECHNOLOGIES

• STAGE 1: Raw Material Supply

Mine &/or process old rubbish (buried in LFS`s) & fresh trash (sourced from disposal systems) to recover Waste Plastic & other Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) for use as feedstock in ECI Energy Recovery Systems

• STAGE 2: Energy Conversion Process - Oil & Gas

Gasification: RDF (incl. Biomass) into Syngas (similar to LPG)Pyrolysis: Waste Plastic into premium grade Oil

• STAGE 3: Distillation Process - Oil to Fuel(s)

Refinement of ECI produced Oil into transport grade Diesel, other Fuels, and a range of Petroleum Products

Page 8: THE WASTE PLASTIC PROBLEM The world produces 300m tons of plastic per annum > 40% is disposed of within the 1 st year post manufacture 1 trillion plastic

ECI SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGIES … Providing a DUAL USE Advantage

• We can help CLEAN UP the worldBy reducing waste plastic & RDF stocks at landfill sites; and By recycling fresh trash via our Zero Waste Systems

… whilst, at the same time,

• ECI can provide Oil & Gas derived fuels to POWER it!By producing premium grade hydrocarbon fuels capable of running internal combustion engines; andBy enabling the generation of Electricity, using ECI Diesel &/or Gas output as the power source

A NEW BREED Company … with a compelling Business Case

• A global population of >7 billion people (60% in Asia), and rising

• Vast quantities of plastic stockpiled in landfill over many years

• Huge volumes of plastic coming into the waste system daily

• Representing an unlimited resource of stored energy (which just goes to waste when it's simply thrown away)

• The price of oil & gas has skyrocketed over recent years

• Reserves of conventional fossil fuel are rapidly coming to an end

• Increasing global demand for energy, particularly in Asia

• ECI Technologies deliver proven solutions & value outcomes

• We capture, unlock & apply the energy reserves stored in waste

• We plan to dramatically scale-up our waste management, fuel production & power generation activities in the S.E. Asian context and, over time, progressively expand into markets beyond this region

ECI: Building on a proven Business Model

Waste Plastic to Oil .… RDF to Syngas

Can you imagine discovering an oil & gas field that produces 500,000 barrels of premium grade Oil per year & huge volumes of Syngas?

One that requires no exploration & no wellhead drilling … and no planting, growing or harvesting (as is the case with biofuels).

And, one that replenishes itself each year with more oil & gas reserves than you started with!

What if you qualified for subsidies to process the oil & gas fieldand got to keep the fuels at the same time?

What if we told you that you would also be reducing environmental pollution and accumulating carbon credits for future Emissions Trading on global markets?

It’s not science fiction!

It’s the product of ECI innovation - just one part of our rapidly evolving Zero Waste & Renewable Energy Business Model

ECI & its Thai Strategic Partners intend to establish a series of MEGA Zero Waste & Renewable Energy Project(s) at designated Thai locations(incorporating the comprehensive range of systems & technologies on offer from the ECI Group & its industry associates).

As a precursor, ECI & its JV Partners have been engaged by Thai Government and military officials to build & operate a large-scale series of facilities at designated locations in the NE (Korat) region of the country.

Stage 1 of this Korat MEGA Project will incorporate the following::

•100 ton per day (TPD) fresh trash treatment capability - via 4 satellite facilities (to deliver at least 25 TPD of waste plastic feedstock)

•2 x ECI Series 10 Pyrolysis Systems (collectively produce 20,000 LPD of oil)

•1 x ECI micro Refinery to produce a range of petroleum product, including 12,000 LPD of transport grade diesel fuel

•Syngas from 4 x Gasifiers will feed a centralised Plasma Gasification Plant which will, in turn, produce 1 MW of electricity

•In addition, compost will subsequently be processed via a Fertiliser Plant

Introduction of LARGE-SCALE PROJECTS

Page 23: THE WASTE PLASTIC PROBLEM The world produces 300m tons of plastic per annum > 40% is disposed of within the 1 st year post manufacture 1 trillion plastic

POWER (ELECTRICITY) GENERATION: Downstream Application

• ECI fuel output from Pyrolysis Conversion & Hydrogenation Refining Plant operations could subsequently be used to drive banks of diesel generators to produce electricity

• Similarly, syngas output from Gasification Technology operations can be applied to drive banks of gas generators to produce electricity

• The electricity produced can either be fed into the host country power grid &/or supplied directly to manufacturers and other clients at dedicated Industrial Parks and the like

The use of ECI Oil & Gas output to the above end will, in each instance, be contingent upon the conduct of a Cost Benefit Analysis Review into whether Power Generation represents the most attractive (value-add) application of those energy stocks applicable
