FINAL REMINDER

The first

Women in

Leadership

(WIL) event last

week was a

huge success!

More than 150

women

attended the

event to learn

about

challenges women face in the workplace, how to advocate for

yourself, as well as how to chase your goals and aspirations.

The program included breakout sessions, discussing how to

develop critical skills to be more effective, the importance of

mentors, as well as how the city can support working women.

The event’s guest speaker was Jodi Liggett, Vice President of

Public Affairs at Planned Parenthood. She shared stories and

learned lessons about how she fought for success throughout

her career and shared helpful advice on how to be your own

best cheerleader. You are invited to attend the next WIL event!

10 a.m. – noon

You must sign up through eChris with course code LDWL01.

Don’t forget, maintenance

medications must be filled

through Cigna Pharmacy

Home Delivery. This applies

to employees and their

covered dependents enrolled

in the Cigna HMO, the BCBS

HMO or the BCBS PPO.

A maintenance medication is a drug that has been prescribed

three consecutive times with the same dose, same quantity and

same doctor’s instructions. The fourth fill must occur via home

delivery.

This means if you have a maintenance medication filled at a

retail pharmacy in January, February and March 2016, you

must use Home Delivery starting in April. For more

information, email [email protected] or contact

Kim Baker at [email protected] or 602-534-5370.

TRAVEL TIPS

March is one of the busiest months for travel at Phoenix Sky Harbor with more than 140,000 travelers each day. City Update’s Deborah Sedillo Dugan interviews Heather Lissner from Sky Harbor on some do’s and don’ts while traveling this spring. Click here.

As you may know, Thursday, April 28 is designated as national

“Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work” day. Because of the

impact that student absences can have on our local schools,

school districts often request that parents and businesses

delay their participation in this event to an alternate date in

the summer.

The city of Phoenix would like all employees to support

scheduling “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work” day on

Thursday, June 16 instead.

You may want to check with your department’s Human

Resources Representative to see what, if any, special activities

or coordinated events are happening for this day. It’s

understood that many employees have participated in this

program in the past with the approval of their immediate

supervisor.

If you have any questions, please contact Tiana Roberts or

Theresa Faull at 495-5715.
