American Folklore Society Annual MeetingOctober 13, 2011

Greetings, everyone. This is David Dombrosky, the arts management and technology consultant responsible for the development of The Will to Adorns online collaborative environment. I apologize for not being able to be with you in person, but I hope that this brief presentation will provide you with context for the development of a research protocol capitalizing upon social media and social networking technology to share fieldwork, reveal reasearch discoveries, and engage one another in discussion.1

Questions to Explore

Which aspects of the research process could work within an online environment?

Which social media elements will help to actualize the collaborative goal for the project?

Is there a single product or service on the market that can meet the projects needs, or will we need to use a combination of tools?

Anytime that we take an offline process and seek to migrate it into an online environment, there are a number of questions to be explored. For The Will to Adorn project, we began by exploring three key questions.2
