“HOPE IS THE ANCHOR” Hebrews 6:17-19

From the Principal’s Pen…

Christmas is almost here! That’s pretty

amazing because it started to appear around

Halloween. I don’t remember when “Black Fri-

day” came about and won’t enter a store on that

day. My sister and I tried it once and said,

“Never again!” My family has decided to shop

for our pets and make Christmas a time to enjoy

being together, but I only have one sister and

you know I buy her a present, or two. One of the

best parts of Christmas is my memories of the

many Christmas programs I had parts in at

Immanuel Lutheran School. Even now when I

read the Christmas story from the Bible I

remember the verses that were my parts to say in

front of the altar.

Today is the day our children present

their Christmas Program. It is their present to

all of you who come to worship with them. They

have been very busy learning their speaking

parts and new words to old tunes. Rehearsing

isn’t much fun when your part isn’t happening.

It’s even difficult to sit and behave sometimes.

Our children amaze me...just when I thought

they couldn’t do it again any better than they

just did it...they sure fool me. They do it for the

teachers they love and they do it for Mr. Taver-

nier, who shares his love of music with them.

Most of all, the children know they are sharing

the wonderful story of the birth of the baby

Jesus, our Savior! I hope many of you were

there to hear their wonderful story, which is our

Savior’s story! I wish you all

have a blessed Merry Christmas!

God Sends His Son to Save Us!

This Sunday, Dec. 20th

, the children will hear the message “Mary Visits Elizabeth”. John the Bap-tist leapt inside Eliza-beth’s womb because he was in the presence of the Son of God, who was growing within Mary’s womb! So today God fills us with Himself in Word and Sacrament and we,

like Mary, offer our praise and worship.

“My spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” Luke 1:47

In the Parish Center, Junior High ( grades 6-8) and Sen-ior High (grades 9-12) will be having Bible Study and Adults will have their Bible Study in the gymnasium.

Next Sunday, Dec. 27th

, the Junior and Senior High will be sharing more of the Advent Story with drama to the Ele-mentary class.

T’was the night before Christmas and all through the church,

no children were singing? We were left in a lurch.

Pastor in his white robe and us each in a panic,

people screaming and running and going all frantic.

When all of a sudden, there rose such a clatter,

Mr. Koch looked up to see what was the matter.

When what to our wondering eyes should appear,

the children in the hall singing ever so dear.

On Lorrin, on Reagan, on Jared and Brooke,

Paris and Kacie, Melanie, Nick and look,

there’s Luke, Gabriella and Hannah as well,

Daniel, Ethan and Brooke all playing the bells.

Morgan, Maggie and Thomas filled with joy and with glee,

all singing to heaven just for You and for me.

All our dear children, how precious they are,

their voices draw all from close and afar.

We are so relieved, we thank God up above,

for each other, our faith and Your precious Love!

Keep us in your tender care, always dear Lord,

through all our days until our final reward.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a truly blessed New Year!

Sincerely, Mrs. Trina J. Theriault
