As head designer for Harry Winston from the 1960s through the end of the century, Shinde blended the opulence of his Indian background with the classic simplicity of the Harry Winston aesthetic. He combined old-world craftsmanship with modern variations. When he died in 2003, Shinde was called a “leading figure in design known primarily to cognoscenti.” So unaffected by his accomplishments, the soft-spoken Shinde never pursued publicity and avoided attention. For Shinde, design was a spiritual calling. Please join author Reema Keswani, the world’s only authorized biographer of A. V. Their combined presentation on this remarkable and inspirational artist will provide insight into the man who forever changed the nature of his craft by inspiring jewelers everywhere to create jewelry as art.
