god ‘Hades’ (Pluto means ‘Hades’ in Greek) whom is the ruler of the underworld, where it’s dark. Since Pluto is so far away from the sun, one can only imagine that Pluto got its name from that, considering it really isn’t near a light source whatsoever.

• “New Horizons” is a spacecraft that as launched in 2006. If all goes well, it should reach Pluto in the near future.
