Dear club member,

Welcome to your first Woodpeckers MAGAZINE of the 2016-17 football

season, the exclusive club magazine for all members of Woodbridge Town

Football Club.

Last season the Woodpeckers MAGAZINE was available as a download

from our website, but this season we will be bringing the magazine direct to

your inbox once a month, bringing our members the latest news from

Woodbridge Town F.C. and much more.

In this issue we have included a guide to all 22 teams that represent

Woodbridge Town F.C. and whichever team you belong to we extend a warm

welcome to you all at your clubhouse at Notcutts Park.

In future issues, in addition keeping you updated on events taking place at your

club we will be bringing you exclusive offers on matchday admission and

events, starting this issue with an exclusive offer on hall hire to all members

for bookings on Friday evenings in 2016. See page 12.

Four home fixtures in August for the first team



Our first team will kick off their

2016-17 campaign at Notcutts Park

on Saturday 6th August, entertaining

Team Bury. A midweek visit to

Whitton United takes place four

days later followed by consecutive

home fixtures against Wisbech St.

Mary, Holland FC and Halstead

Town.

The draws for the league cup

competitions have also been made

and Woodbridge Town can look

forward to renewing acquaintances

with Felixstowe & Walton United in

the second round of the Thurlow

Nunn League Cup. Woodbridge

Town and Felixstowe have been

drawn a bye in the first round,

with the teams meeting for a 2nd

round tie for the first time in

three years at Dellwood Avenue

in the first week of November.

Another local derby is a possibility

in the Thurlow Nunn First

Division Cup. Woodbridge have

been drawn a bye in the 1st round

but will host either Framlingham

Town or Needham Market

Reserves in the second round in

October.

Reserves start with a visit to Long Melford

After a successful campaign in 2015-16,

the Reserves will begin their new season

in the Thurlow Nunn Reserve league on

Saturday 20th August with a visit to Long

Melford Reserves.

The first home league fixture for the

reserves takes place a week later on

Saturday 27th August when Cornard

United Reserves visit Notcutts Park.

Reserve matches are played on the first

pitch at Notcutts Park on Saturday’s at

3.00pm or Wednesdays at 7.45pm.

Admission to matches is £2 per adult and

£1 for senior citizens. All of our youth

team players receive FREE admission.

another extended run in the FA

Youth Cup which ended on a

memorable evening at Millwall.

The team will be competing in all

season with the league campaign

beginning on Thursday 11th

August when we host Stowmarket

Town U18’s at Notcutts Park.

Kick off is at 7.45pm and entrance

is £3.00 per adult, £2.00 senior

citizens. Under 18’s and all of our

youth team players receive FREE

admission.

Anthony Fryatt takes charge of the

Under 18’s midweek team for the

new season following the departure

of team manager James Cantrell.

James has taken a position on the

management team at Framlingham

Town after several successful years

at Nottcuts Park. Anthony will be

assisted by our regular Under 18’s

coach Dave Bowman.

Whilst the continued development of

young players for first team duty will

again be the primary mission for the

new management team, the players

again excelled themselves last season

retaining the Thurlow Nunn Central

Division title and lifting the Thurlow

The Woodbridge Town Veterans team

further enhanced their reputation as one

of the leading Vets teams in the region last

season winning the Premier Division

(South) of the Norfolk and Suffolk

Veterans league .

Fixtures for the new season will

commence in September and will be

available on the club website when known.

Matches are played on the first pitch at

Notcutts Park on Sunday afternoon’s with

the atmosphere in the bar after the game

as lively the entertainment provided earlier

on the pitch.

Entrance to Veterans matches is FREE

Members meet fortnightly at Woodbridge Town

Football Club at 7.00am, networking until 7.30am

when a cooked breakfast is served to members

seated at tables of four or five. Seating

arrangements change for each meeting to allow

members more time to find out about each

others business in an informal manner. Meetings

end at 8.30 am, although members may continue

to network until 9.00am.

Meetings in August are on

Sunday football at Notcutts Park

will continue to provide our youth

teams a schedule of challenging

fixtures against quality opposition as

four of our teams represent the

club in the highly regarded Eastern

Junior Alliance league

The Eastern Junior Alliance (or EJA)

is the South East of England’s

leading youth development football

league, established in 1987 at Under

18 level it has now progressed to

age levels U13 to U18, with 6 age

levels in total, achieving great

success at each level.

Spread over nine counties in the

South East of England with

approximately 70 clubs and 175

the Suffolk Youth League, (formerly the South

Suffolk Youth League) which was recently named

as the 2016 Regional winners of the FA Charter

Standard League award. Matches are played on

Saturday mornings and usually kick off at 10:30am.

Since its formation in 2007, the

Woodbridge Town Football Club

Monthly Draw has paid out over

£15,000 in cash prizes to its members.

Joining the Monthly Draw gives you

the chance to become one of our

lucky winners of the future.

HOW DOES THE MONTHLY

DRAW WORK?

When you join the Monthly Draw,

you’ll be given a unique number. Each

month, as long as you have paid your

subscription, your number will be

entered into the draw. If your number

is drawn, congratulations - you’re a

winner! It’s as simple as that. The

monthly draw will take place at 9pm

on the last Friday of each month at the

football club.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Being a member of the Monthly Draw

costs just £5 per month per entry.

WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?

We aim to have a monthly prize fund

in excess of £250 with a first prize of

at least £100. The remainder of the

prize fund is divided between the

second, third and fourth prizes.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I’VE

WON?

All prize winners are notified

personally. In addition, the results of

each draw will be posted on the club

notice board and website.

HOW CAN I PAY?

Subscriptions can be paid monthly by

completing a standing order mandate,

or alternatively paid annually by

cheque.
