The photojournalism category, which investigates the complex relationship between humans and the natural world through the narrative power of photography, is amongst the most popular in the exhibition. These challenging, uplifting, provocative and revelatory images illustrate how our attitudes, decisions and actions impact the natural world. Images raising awareness of the sustainable use of finite natural resources and the illegal wildlife trade are of particular interest to visitors.

New elements are introduced regularly and promise a fresh and exciting visitor experience each year. Recently, this included a time-lapse category and additional digital features, such as mobile content, allowing visitors to access captions via their smartphones in the exhibition. This was particularly useful for venues that needed to make exhibition text available in multiple languages, with translations available at an additional fee. There was also the option to like or share on social media, enabling venues to link the exhibition to their social media programmes.

Venues will also have the opportunity to order unique Wildlife Photographer of the Year merchandise, including unique and best-selling prints, portfolio books and many more wildlife souvenirs.

'Thanks to this app our visitors could read the captions in their own language, even at home. Friendly use, nice design...just perfect.'
