Zombie Classifications(as broken down by lateral movement)
The “Shuffler”Slow-moving like grandpa in the middle of the night. Easily escapable, but very, very sneaky.
The “Crawler”Essentially immobile, yet just as dangerous. Watch where you step…don’t mistake a crawler for a dead zombie.
The “Walker”Moves a little quicker than a shuffle. A crowd of walkers is nothing to be trifled with.
The “Runner”
It runs faster than you, I promise. It also has the ability to post pictures of its friends on FaceBook.
Known Zombie Facts:
• No fine motor skills – Will knock down a door vs. using a key
• Extreme strength?– No…they just don’t feel pain
• Zombies do not age, but may deteriorate• Have no emotions…or do they??? (e.g. I Am
Legend)• Require living flesh to eat
– Will not eat other zombies
How Zombies are Made• Voo-Doo – brought back from the dead• Virus – airborne, blood-borne, etc.
– May be transmitted from animals (see below)• From the bite of another zombie
Probable zombie dog (not verified)
How to Protect Your Facility
What Your Facility Should Have
• Heavy, solid doors to the outside• Sturdy windows
– First floor and basement windows should be lockable.
• Perimeter potential– What can be used to create an intermediate
barrier?
Facility on Lock-Down Procedures
• No loud noises– Keep talking, singing, and other joyful noises to a
minimum – Generators can only be run deep within your facility
(don’t forget to ventilate)• Lights draw attention
– Includes flashlights, candles, strobe lights, and glow sticks
– Windows at night must be in black-out mode• Have a safe-room
Safe-Room Amenities• Non-perishable foods
– Have canned/freeze-dried foods that don’t need to be cooked– Marshmallows never go bad
• Entertainment– Boredom can kill you also– Movie watching will turn your brain to mush – less desirable for
zombies to eat• Water purification system• Batteries*Be prepared for 40 days – if zombie apocalypse lasts much
longer than that, you’re probably dead anyway
When It Hits the Fan:encountering a zombie face-to-face
How to Kill a Zombie• You must destroy the brain• Possible Methods:
– Blunt object to the head• Chair leg, tire iron, wrench• This method offers unlimited killing capacity• Note: sports equipment is highly successful (baseball bat, hockey stick,
golf club, etc)– Shoot it in the head
• Note: gun rounds are limited…develop an arsenal quickly and use sparingly
– Cut off head completely– Explosions
Fight or Flight:who to protect
You are #1 – save yourself
Protect the nerdy guy/girlNote: you are protecting them because they likely cannot protect themselves due to their nerdy-ness. However, they will be the ones to solve the crisis eventually.
Children are useless
Now What:what to do when it’s all over
Now What?
• Find another survivor• Don’t be a caveman – create a civilization
– You’re not starting from scratch• Lighters/matches will go a long way• Plenty of batteries left in the world
– Learn to sew– Australia: Land of the Living
