The ASH Pre-Study Program

For whom is the ASH Pre-Study program and whydoes it exist?

The ASH Pre-Study Program is for refugees whocannot yet apply for studies at ASH Berlin. Lan-guage competences in German (Level C1) can beacquired within the one year program and pre-internships that are required to apply for certainstudy programs at ASH Berlin can be carried out.In addition there ist he possibilitie to enroll tocourses which then are credited in further stu-dies. With the ASH Pre-Study Program as well asthe active support within the application pro-cess, the ASH Berlin aims to contribute to educa-tional justice and increase the number ofenrolled refugee students.

Structure of the ASH Pre-Study ProgramDuration: 2 semesters (approx. 1 year)

Program:• Language- and orientation courses(Level B2 and C1)

• Enrollment in accompanied courses• Completion of study relevant application

requirements (e.g. internship, first-aid course)

Support:• Support and assistance by mentors• Support for final application to regular studies

The ASH B.A.-Study Programs

Why study Social Work, Early Childhood Edu-cation, Healthcare and Nursing Management orPhysiotherapy/ Occupational therapy at ASHBerlin?

The need of qualified and multi-lingual person-nel in the fields of Social Work, Education,Parenting and Health in Germany risescontinuously for years now.

At ASH Berlin, students acquire competencethrough the respective BA-Studies in exactlythese fields of work in order to be qualified toact independently in various fields of the social-,parenting-, education-, and health sector.

According to the values of its founder, the ASHBerlin considers itself very engaged in the ada-cemisation of study programs such as SocialWork, Early Childhood Education, Healthcareand Nursing Management as well as Physiothe-rapy/ Occupational Therapy. At the same time itis dedicated to further the professionalization ofthe working fields in regards to human rights,transnational networking and the promotion ofcritical diversity.

Even today the ASH Berlin considers itselfcommitted and socially tasked to support socialjustice and critically reflect on developments insocial society, regarding emancipatory reality.

Admission in ASH Pre-Study Program

Pre-conditions for admission:• Language Level German B1 (completed)• University entrance qualification (if these

documents cannot be submitted, please comeand see the ASH Refugee Office for councelling

Application procedure:• 1st to 31st of July every year

Required documents:• Letter of Motivation(German or English, max. two pages)

• Curriculum Vitae/ Résumé (German or English)• Identity documents (copy)• Certificate of Language Skills German B1(copy)

• University entrance qualification (copy)
