    KETIDAKMUNGKINAN YANG MUNGKIN

    Dalam konsep ubermensch (manusia ultra atau manusia super), terkandung kemauan bagi manusia untuk mengatasi keterba-

    tasan dirinya, baik mental, pikiran, maupun tubuh. Lalu bagaimana mungkin manusia yang dirinya inerior itu mampu menjelma

    menjadi manusia superior? Dalam ajaran lsaat yaitu dengan melakukan penciptaan. Penciptaan akan sesuatu yang melampaui

    dirinya.

    Misalnya, pandangan Baudrillard mengenai konsep hyper (baca: melampaui) mungkin koheren dengan konsep ultra/super

    dalam pemikiran Nietzsche. Perkembangan teknologi inormasi terkini seperti cyberspace merupakan contoh dari apa yang dise-

    but hyper-mind dimana prinsip cyberspace sebagai suatu jaringan-jaringan pikiran manusia yang bersatu membentuk pikiran-

    pikiran lebih tinggi. Di masa lalu, itu adalah ketidakmungkinan, tetapi sekarang apa yang dinyatakan dalam pemikiran-pemikiran

    mereka adalah keniscayaan yang menjadi keseharian kita.

    Mewujudkan mimpi menjadi sesuatu yang nyata adalah keinginan manusia sejak masa purba, mesk ipun mimpi juga kenyataan

    itu sendiri karena setiap manusia bermimpi. Rama Surya, menjelmakan mimpi kanak-kanak dan masa remajanya dalam otogra-

    otogra hitam putihnya. Penciptaan dunia baru dalam mengatasi ketidakmungkinan pengabadian momen yang menentukan

    sebelum otogra lahir.

    Agus Pande adalah otograer dari Bali yang membalikkan ketidakmungkinan persaingan otograer lokal dengan otograer bule

    yang selalu mendapatkan bayaran lebih tinggi. Kualitas dan sikap yang berani mendidik klien adalah metodenya. Ada pula oto-

    graer Singapura, Deanna Ng yang tertarik membuat otogra-otogra tentang pasar kemanapun ia pergi, satu lagi kemungkinan

    yang sebagian dari kita mengatakan tidak mungkin.

    Memiliki sikap otentik, pada banyak otograer, pemula sampai proesional selalu dianggap ketidakmungkinan dengan argumen-

    tasi tak mengikuti trend berarti bunuh diri. Sikap otentik adalah seumpama silent road yang jika tidak pernah dijalani sebena-

    rnya tak berhak atas klaim bunuh diri tadi. Selalu ada kemungkinan menarik di jalan sunyi.

    Kemunculan messiah otogra Indonesia dalam pandangan skeptis jangka pendek adalah ketidakmungkinan. Tetapi uber-

    mensch selalu dirundung keinginan mewujudkannya dalam keniscayaan. The Light bersama-sama mencoba mewujudkannyadalam event yang akan segera hadir di bulan Maret. Perjuangkan takdirmu!

    The Bank CrisisAt the moment everyones talking about the bank crisis, so I made a picture to

    go with it. I chose downtown Frankurt as the location, as Frankur t is Germanys

    nancial centre.

    I love spectacular scenes and Ive already made quite a number o catastrophe

    photos. As long as one is not in the middle o the real scenario, thats easy to do ...

    My idea this time was to show the demise o the banking world, as it gets washed

    away by a huge storm ood..

    The bank buildings are very well-

    known in Germany, so it was easy to

    use them as symbolic objects. When

    standing directly in ront o them

    though, one can only photograph

    them with a very wide angle lens andslightly distorted, which makes it di-

    cult to portray a group o buildings. So

    I had to take the photos rom a greater

    distance and height, i.e. rom a high-

    rise building. We drove to Frankurt on

    a Sunday. Rather than going through

    the tedious rituals o gaining approval

    to take photos rom various property

    administration oces, I preer to look

    around or tower buildings under

    construction. We were in luck: one was

    just being built directly on the riverMain, and already had all thirty storeys

    nished. Yes, o course the obligatory

    KEEP OUT! PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE

    FOR THEIR CHILDREN! sign was clearly

    posted on the site ence, but I didnt

    have my mother with me ...

    Unortunate, though, that we had to carry our equipment right up to the rootop

    on oot. And up there on the windy, unsecured rootop, I realised why this was

    absolutely no place or children! Anyway, I got good pic tures o all the important

    banks. Citizens o Frankurt: please orgive me or not positioning them properly

    within the nished picture, but in this case the directive was story beore truth.

    Now to the oreground: to give the picture more depth and to prevent it rom

    looking merely like a dramatised landscape, I needed a person in there. The story-

    line required a victim: the banker. I could have made that really spooky, but I pre-

    erred a bizarre setting. A man ho lding on to a street lamp certainly looks weird.

    Hes looking into the camera and seems to be on the p oint o slipping away. This

    nal, surprised look I copied rom Laurel & Hardy.

    My brother Markus (you know: my universal studio genius) built a huge copper

    pipe as the lamppost. Our riend Andreas gave his all in my studio to represent

    the drowning banker in wet clothing. Its hard to imagine just how dicult it is to

    hang on to a smooth pipe in soaking wet gear!

    For the water efects, I only

    had to search in my large ar-

    chives where I have plenty o

    photos o wateralls, wild wa-

    ters etc. There I ound ample

    storm ood material or thisairly complex photo composi-

    tion (I actually combined more

    than 20 water photos here).

    It took me 11/2 days to create the ood wave and include the buildings all in

    all, the composition contains 35 pictures. Have you noticed that I assembled all

    the buildings slightly crookedly? Not one o them is straight. That may not really

    be logical, but its important or the atmosphere. And because the press is always

    present in such situations, theres a helicopter hovering in the background ...

    My archive also contains various rain

    photos, so I put one o those over the

    entire scenery. For the lamp head Iused my daughters braces box. That

    was much quicker than trying to nd

    a real lantern we simply didnt have

    time or that. So ... hang a lamp here,

    do a bit o retouching there, and it

    already looks pretty real.

    This playul way o working is so typical

    or me. It arouses the little boy in me

    and turns my studio into the best pro-

    essional playground o the world!

    Berburumomen,keluar

    masuk pasarBeberapa tahun yang lalu seorang otograer kenamaan Indonesia yang tinggal dijerman mengaku melewati masa di mana selama ber tahun-tahun ia hanya mau

    memotret satu obyek saja yaitu besi. Kapanpun dan kemanapun ia pergi hanya

    besi lah yang membuatnya berhenti dan memotret.

    Beberapa otograer memang berkeyakinan bahwa konsistensi dan keuletan

    dalam menekuni suatu bidang
