Explain 2 contrasting religious beliefs about re‐marriage after divorce...

One religious belief about re‐marriage after divorce is that Jesus taught people that re‐marriage after divorce was adultery. This is why the Catholic Church teaches that divorce cannot dissolve a marriage, and it goes against Christian principles.

Another religious belief about re‐marriage after divorce is that Protestant Churches such as the Methodists do allow re‐marriage after divorce as long as couples take the vows seriously. They believe in forgiveness and that people deserve a second chance to find happiness.

Theme A – Relationships and familiesQuestion 4 = 5 marks = 5 minutes – you must refer to at least ONE religious teaching – Bible, Jesus, prayer, Psalm, Pope, Qu’uran...

Explain tworeligious beliefs about the nature of marriage...

One religious belief about the nature of marriage is that it is a sacrament to many Christians, and in Catholic weddings the wedding is part of a Mass Service. This is a holy sacrament and set of promises made in the eyes of God and must therefore be taken very seriously.

Another religious belief about the nature of marriage is that it is a gift from God after Creation of the universe and life. Traditionalist Christians and Muslims see marriage as a natural joining of man and woman as intended by God. For example in the book of Genesis Bible it states “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh”

Explain two religious beliefs aboutthe role of parents in a family...(pp78‐81)
