Revolutionary Therapeutic Taping Methods to Treat Musculoskeletal InjuriesMusculoskeletal conditions and disorders will at some point affect athletic performance, daily physical activity, and the overall effectiveness of locomotion. These conditions can be difficult to prevent, treat, manage, and rehab due to the complexity of the system. And many of these athletes, clients, and patients—whether they are rehabilitating for patellofemoral pain, receiving massages for chronic scar tissue, or training for a specific sport—may benefit from the use of traditional taping procedures and elastic therapeutic taping protocols.
This one-day seminar will provide participants with the opportunity to develop effective taping treatment techniques to the musculoskeletal system to reduce pain; promote active range of movement, facilitation, or inhibition of a muscle/group; and stimulate the neuromuscular and immune systems to function dynamically. Course participants will explore the benefits of specific techniques: Kinesio® Taping, Athletic Training Tape, McConnell’s Leukotape®, and Ace™ bands for the upper and lower extremities treatment protocols in order to activate the musculoskeletal system with outside assistance. Through multiple hands-on lab sessions, interactive lecture, and multimedia technology, this class will provide attendees with a solid grasp of the benefits of several types of taping techniques and how to apply it effectively and efficiently to achieve immediate results. Advanced protocols will be included to be more creative when faced with any patient population ranging from the enhancement of performance to rehabilitation. Attendees will leave with not only practical approaches and new techniques to implement immediately, but also an optimistic, fresh approach to treating musculoskeletal conditions and disorders.
What You Will Learnu Identify both non-traditional and traditional therapeutic taping techniques, as well as the healing process and physiology behind themu Recognize several taping methods, brands currently on the market, and use of each typeu Discuss techniques of various brands of tape for a therapeutic response for musculoskeletal and connective tissue injuries and
conditionsu Develop treatment plans for specific conditions and athletic performance improvement
