(Specifically, to teach ESL at Harvest you’ll need the ESL certificate: the training will give you the knowledge & confidence you need to teach it well!) This training is open to the community, with a maximum of 40 students, ages HS and older.

Who should attend this Training? Anyone who is interested in: * teaching or assisting with ESL (or similar program) * improving communication skills with those who are new to speaking EnglishAND/OR * investigating how to start an ESL program near you – for a minimal investment of money and time, you will come away with a comprehensive understanding of what an ESL program looks likes, and requires.

Everyone will Learn How to Teach ESL, including: * Student Placement * Dealing with Cultural Misunderstandings * ESL Lesson Planning * New Vocabulary * Communication Practice * Incorporating Biblical Material in Your Classes * Sharing Your Faith with Your Students * Beyond the Classroom: Building cultural & relational bridges outside of class time * Beyond ESL: Guidelines for when students show an interest in Jesus, the Bible, and your Faith

In addition, everyone will gain the Overall Perspective of: * ESL as Outreach * How To Organize ESL in your Church
