The insulating power of the thermo box is increased by vacuum insulation panels from va-Q-tec which have an insulating power that is 15 times high-er than the one of conventional insulants. Among other things gel cushions are used as cooling mediums.

The boxes are designed to protect your goods in connection with international transport. The boxes are especially suitable for the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

Temperature simulation in climate chamber:• Ambient temperature, performed after AFNOR NF S99-700 profile with an average temperature of 26°C

for summer profile and an avage temperatur for winter profile is 7°C • Refrigerant in the form of Foambricks, Cooling element and PCM’s• Simulations are done with Empty Packaging (worst case scenario)

Tests are performed in accordance to the European standrard AFNOR NF.Tests are carried out with empty packaging “worst case”. It has been tested both in the summer scenario 26°C and in the winter scenario 7°C.

Storopack offers insulating boxes made of EPS (expanded polystyrene), EPP (expanded po-lypropylene), and Neopor for temperature-sensitive goods that exactly fit to the respective product and the temperature conditions during its transport and storage.

The secret of EPS (expanded polystyrene): It contains 98 % air, the remaining 2% are polystyrene enclosing the air. Thus, on the one hand, polystyrene is very lightweight, but on the other hand extremely compact and sustainable as well.

EPP (expanded polypropylene) is particularly resistant, persistent, and lightweight. Owing to the low heat conductivity temperature-sensitive products are perfectly protected.

Neopor® is characterized by excellent insulation properties against heat and cold, by compressive resistance, shock absorbance, little weight and resistance against humidity. Furthermore it features infrared absorbers and reflectors, which reduce the heat conductivity in comparison to conventional insulating materials and give the Neopor® its silver-grey colour.

Ecovio is the new 100% biodegradable material. Ecovio® is a more environmentally friendly material, as the raw material is made from maize bio-polymer. Ecovio® has the same insulating properties as EPS (Styrofoam®) and approximately the same wear resistance as EPP®. In addition, Ecovio® can be in contact with a large number of chemicals. Ecovio® is still a slightly more expensive material due to its propensity relative to EPS (Styrofoam®). The molding process is the same as EPS (Styrofoam®) Ecovio® is certified compostable according to DIN CERTCO.

Piocelan is a new material on the market. Visually there is no difference between PIOCELAN and EPP. Pressure strength is significantly better than EPS and slightly better than EPP. PIOCELAN is almost as good insulating as EPS and almost as strong as the EPP. Economically, PIOCELAN is cheaper than the EPP, as the molding process is the same as in EPS production. In addition, the same molds can be used for both EPS and PIOCELAN. If one’s products need a packaging that is extra shock absorbing, PIOCELAN is a good choice. If you currently use EPS and have a return system on your packaging, there is money to save as PIOCELAN is much stronger than EPS.
