CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

Students these days are addicted to computer, especially to the internet. Many of them will make excuses that they will do their assignments and projects but instead they will go to the computer shops to play computer games or check their facebook accounts or maybe doing something bad.

The researchers want to know the effect of this habit too a student's school life. The computer that is usually use in doing research works is now considered as a game place.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The researchers will aim to determine the effect of internet to the performance of III- Agoho students in school.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

Independent Variable Dependent Variable Outcome

Internet Resources Students using Internet Students get high grades.Students get low grades.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study will be conducted only in the use of Internet in delivering information to the III- Agoho students of Ilocos Sur National High School, that they used in their academic performance. It will tell whether the students get high grades or not.

SIGNIFICANCE OF STUDY

This study will be beneficial to the students. It will make the students' task easier or less- time consuming, that will enable them to concentrate on their academic needs. They will also know that Internet is not only for games but it also contributes to their studies.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

INTERNET. Sometimes called simply “the net” is the computer- based global information system. The Internet carries information resources and services, such as the inter-linked hypertext documents of the World Wide Web (WWW) and the electronic mail.Performace level.

CHAPTER II

RESEARCH METHOD

The researchers will make use of a descriptive method of research. It is the most practical way to conduct this study to determine the effect of the internet to the performance of III- Agoho students in school.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS

The researchers will make use of a questionnaire as the main tool in gathering data. The selected students will answer the questionnaire and their result will be tallied, analyzed and interpreted to find out the effect of internet to the performance level of the students in school.

POPULATION AND SAMPLING DESIGN

The III- Agoho students of Ilocos Sur National High School will be the subject of the study. The researchers will used choose the students to take the test ti make the population representative smaller. The researchers will choose 30 students to take the test.

STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA

To be able to find the effect of internet to the students' performance level in school; the researchers will use the following statistical tools:

Mean. This will be used to determine the effect of internet to the students' performance level in school.

Pearson Product Moment of Correlation. This will be used in determining the degree of relationship between respondents' effect in computer usage to their performance level in school.

CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

Mathematics is not a hard subject, it's the students who are hard-headed. They tend to skip their classes or sleep in their class or maybe do nothing at all. They seemed to be uninterested about this subject but it's a little harder than others. They say that mathematics is a really hard subject that is why they hate it.

The researchers are curious of what impression towards mathematics of the students can affect the performance of their grades.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This research will aim to determine the perception of I- Mahinhin students towards Mathematics and its effect to their academic performance.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

INDEPENDENT VARIABLE DEPENDENT VARIABLE OUTCOME

Students get high grades.Students get low grades.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

The study will be confined only in the perception of I- Mahinhin students of Ilocos Sur National High School towards Mathematics and its effect to their academic performance.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The study will be beneficial to the students. It will determine how much they like the subject, mathematics. They will also find out that this subject is not that hard.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

Perception.

Academic Performance.

CHAPTER II

RESEARCH METHOD

The study will make us of a descriptive method of research. It is the most practical way to determine the perception of students towards mathematics.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT

The researchers will make use of a survey type questionnaire as the main tool in gathering data. The selected students will answer the questionnaire and their responses will be tallied, analyzed and interpreted to find out the perception of I- Mahinhin students towards Mathematics.

POPULATION AND SAMPLING DESIGN

The I- Mahinhin students of Ilocos Surr National High School will be the subject of the study. The researchers will use the randomized sampling technique to make the population representative smaller. The population will be divided into two: group A and B. The chosen students will take the test.

STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA

To be able to find the students perception towards mathematics and its effect to their academic performance; the researchers will use the following statistical tools:

Frequency and Percentage. This will be used to determine the distribution of the responses of the respondents.

Mean. This will be used to determine the perception of I- Mahinhin students towards mathematics.

Pearson Product Moment of Correlation. This will be used in determining the degree of relationship between the respondents' perception towards mathematics and its effect in their academic performance.

CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

Students are hard up in the subject, Mathematics. This is so because sometimes it is hard to understand. They say that this subject is not interesting, boring and crazy. What they don't know is that mathematics is fun. Science is another hard subject aside from mathematics. It seemed that they are on the same level.

That is why the researchers want to find out what students prefer or like better, math or science.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This research will aim to determine the level of preference of II- Bougainvilla students of Ilocos Sur National High School towards Mathematics over Science.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

INDEPENDENT VARIABLE DEPENDENT VARIABLE OUTCOME

Students like Mathematics better and get high grades. Students like Science better and get high grades.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study will be confined only in the level of preference of II- Bougainvilla students of Ilocos Sur National High School towards Mathematics over Science. It will tell whether the students prefer mathematics over science.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The study will be beneficial to the students. It will determine whether their perception in any subject affect their grades. They will be aware of the subjects that they hate or love.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

Level of Preference.

Mathematics.

Science.
