The engine has .625" bore and stroke and is fabricated from a brass casting set. This presentation includes a small boiler. This is the same engine that was presented by Miller and Moore. PALANEK, PAUL J. MINIATURE STEAM ENGINE MECHANIXILLUSTRATED Vol. 59 July 1963 pp 126-129 A tiny, .25" by .25", double acting oscillating cylinder steam engine. This is my favorite of the tiny engines. The engine features bolted-on heads which are most unusual for an engine this size. The engine is machined from bar stock and is shown with a boiler made from a cylindrical carburetor float. A kit was of- fered by Technical Kits, later American Edelstaal. North Georgia Live steamers partrctpate In THE TASTE OF ATLANTA by Paul Demlanchlk PHOTO BY THE AUTHOR The North Georgia Live Steamers, the Telephone Pioneers, and various Atlanta restaurants joined together for a charity event on April 19, 20 and 21, 1985, to raise money for the Georgia Kidney Foundation. The event, known as "The Taste of Atlanta," featured the best of Atlanta restaurants serving small portions of their specialities at the Southern Bell Center, as well as train rides provided by the North Georgia Live Steamers. Ken Riddle was on hand with his 0-6-0 for the 2¥2 day event that saw NGLS members carry 2,192 passengers around their portable 60' X 120' track, which was placed on particleboard to protect the marble floor of the plaza from "Iron Horse droppings." Through the combined efforts of the three groups, $110,000 was raised and the NGLS have been asked to par- ticipate again next year in this popular event which received extensive news coverage from local TV stations and a cable news network. 48 MODELTECMagazine-August 1985
