MUSIC CORNERI am looking to add more Cantors

for our Masses. For the Cantors

program there are no scheduled

rehearsals. Cantors practice at

home with online resources that I

provide and we practice 30 minutes

before the mass you are scheduled

to sing. If you are interested and/

or want more information please

contact me or sign up in the cantor

schedule (by the organ). Please

make sure to leave with me a

number or email that I can reach

you so I can share the resources (if

you are new).

For Christmas, the Children will

be doing a small play the Sunday

before Christmas after the 11am

Mass. As of now, the play will be

live in church but it will be subject

to change in case new covid

restrictions are put in place. If your

child/children would be interested,

please send me an email and/or

talk to me after Mass. Practices will

begin on October but I will like to

have a good count on the number

of participants to prepare the play

appropriately.

God Bless,

Omar

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL MEMBERSHIPOur CGS Conference has 5 members at the present time. We need to increase that number so we can begin the training and transfer of duties to new members.

Answering phone calls to determine needs is the primary duty. So far this fiscal year (Oct 1, 2020 - Sept 30, 2021) we have received 95 calls for assistance. 35 of those households received financial aide, 12 received furniture, appliance, or household items Others received food or were referred to a Food Pantry. 32 callers were referred to other SVdP Conferences, other

Agencies, grant funds, or other resources. Some handle their own bills after consultation. Due to the pandemic, most calls are handled with a phone call - so home visits are not required in all cases.

St. Vincent de Paul has served Lincoln Park residents for over 80 years. It is a rewarding ministry and promotes friendship and spiritual growth.

We meet the 3rd Thursday of the month in the Lobby Annex at 6:00 PM.

Please consider becoming a member. Support and training are available.

God bless you.

CAN YOU HELP US TEACH THE FAITH? Hello, everyone! We’re getting ready for a new year of faith formation here at Christ the Good Shepherd! With that being said, we’re looking for some generous hearts willing to give of their time on Mondays. Sessions are from 5:30pm to 7:00pm and they take place in classrooms in the school.

Who are we looking for?

• Catechist Aides: assist the catechist in teaching and supervising the class.

• Substitutes: be “on call” in the event that one of the above would be absent for a session(s).

• Hall monitors: keep an eye on the hallways as classes take place and help when assistance is needed.

If you are interested in any of the above positions or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Allison Accardo at: [email protected] or (313)928-1324 ext. 122.

Name: Phone:

I desire to prepare for my Baptism into Christianity.

I’ve been baptized as a Christian and now desire to join the Catholic Church.

I’m non-Catholic, but married to a Catholic, and now wish to join the Catholic Church.

I’m Catholic and I would like to complete my initiation into the Catholic Church by celebrating Confirmation and/or Communion.

I want to invite someone for Catholic Church membership.

RETROUVAILLEIn marriage, communication is more than just talking. At some point, did you stop sharing about the things that were important to you? Did your spouse?

Improving a marriage takes time and a conscious effort. Sometimes the distance between a husband and wife can seem so wide that it cannot be repaired. Retrouvaille is designed to help married couples understand each other and reconnect. Safe. Private. Effective. Rediscover Your Love.

The next Retrouvaille program will begin on Friday, October 15, 2021 Visit HelpOurMarriage.org or call 800-470-2230

ARE YOU A TEACHER?St. John Paul II Classical Catholic School is looking for a Science and/or English/Language Arts teacher for middle school. If you are interested in this position, please contact Mrs. Monica Burke at [email protected].

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to receive you in my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, Come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there And unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
