A follow-up visit to the Yusay-Consing Mansion in the Molo District of Iloilo City on January 20th , 2015.


When we first visited the property in early 2014,we were not allowed onto the ground and even onthis visit the same rules were in effect – no‘outsiders’ on the grounds. You’ll recall the placeat the time was a veritable dump, both literally &figuratively.


We are still trying to find the powers that be whocould make the exception for us to record the fullstory of the transition of this once magnificentproperty. We persist in working hard to get that done.Nevertheless, the place has been a ‘beehive’ ofactivity the past few months and the results areindeed awe-inspiring.


This is the sight that greeted us as we passed bytoday, January 20th, 2015.An amazing transition from public eyesore anddumpsite to something more resembling what itonce was. You can see, in your mind’s eye, what abeautiful place this must have been not that longago…


The work done on the site is truly impressive,in such a short time, the Developer, SMProperties is keeping to it’s word so far and wehave no doubt that they will continue to do so.since they are a reputable and ethicalorganization we have no reason to doubt thatthey will continue on a positive track.

And across Molo Plaza, St Ann’s Church, theFeminist Church of Molo and Iloilo City sitsserenely by watching the developments on thatproperty and some others in the area satisfiedthat these changes will make this area an evenmore attractive and pleasant one in themonths and years to come.

In the meantime, we will continue to try tocontact the Developer’s local representative toarrange access to the property so that we canproperly and effectively document the furtherdevelopment of the property for you ourreaders and visitors.
