Things you really need to know about Hospice Care

Hospice care is something that is related to “terminally ill” patients. And therefore,

when it comes to take hospice care for your loved ones it seems that's it, it is the end.

The term “Hospice care” brings a fear, anxiety, confusion and sadness. But, is that

really true what we think about these services. Let us dig into deeper.

Many people think that hospice is a place where people go, but thats not true.

Hospice is a service which come to your home, in your private residence and

sometimes at assisted living centers or hospitals if needed.

Hospice provide you a number of professional services. Hospices provide you

the mandated routine time services and also extended hour services in some

cases if needed. Which means a nurse will visit regularly, assess for changes

and arrange for medicines and medical supplies as they are needed. Hospice

care professionals are always there to answer our any type of queries on any

topic. The big difference between the services provided in past

and now is that, now doctors and professionals come to your

home, but earlier you had to

visit the medical care centers or hospitals. They come to see you even on sundays.

There are no holidays or off days. Don't you feel alone now. Help is always there.

You have to just make a phone call. Some Hospice Care Providers also provide the

services like music therapy, massage therapy, aroma therapy, pet therapy and art

therapy. Not just the

medical help, but they are always their to lend you the emotional support that

you need in bad time.

Most

of us consider Hospice Care services when we feel like it is now end. But that

is absolutely wrong. Don't do that with your loved ones. Take them to these

service providers as soon as possible. Getting hospice care earlier reduces the

family's stress, avoids burnout and guarantees an improved quality of life.

Taking your loved one to a hospice care provider earlier means an improved

life style for the patient and also it give you the enough strength and time to

say final “Good Bye”.

It is true that 90% of americans, who are terminally ill, wants to die at home.

But, in reality only 25 % dies at home. Rest of 75-80% dies in facilities. On the

other hand, hospice patients almost always get their wish to die at home as

their families are well prepared and supported to care for

them at home. Hospice patients rarely die in the hospital.

In the past, there are cases where conditions of some patients significantly

improved and they got discharged from the hospitals. So, we can conclude

from this experience that when we give love, care, affection and emotional

support to a person, he/she can regain from worst situations.

Also hospice care mostly covered by your medical insurance so there would be

no extra financial burden on you.

And, one thing that i would like to tell all our readers that it is a necessary

service for patients. So, don't delay further if you have someone which is

struggling with his medical condition.
