By law, only Registered Gas Installers (RGI) are permitted to work on domestic gas installations and will always provide a Conformance Certifi cate. Think Safety, think RGI.

Before work starts...ID Cards

Registered Gas Installers (RGI) are required to always carry their ID card with them. Customers are strongly advised to always ask to see the RGI’s ID card and to check the expiry date on the card to ensure that the individual is still a registered gas installer.

Before you pay....Conformance Certifi cate

A Registered Gas Installer (RGI) must provide you with a Conformance Certifi cate confi rming that the gas work is complete and was carried out in conformance with the correct standards and is safe to use. This is a very important document, so keep it in a safe place. The job is not complete until you have received a signed conformance certifi cate from the RGI.


Customer AdviceThe property owner/occupier is responsible for ensuring that the gas appliances and the installation pipe work at your premises are properly and safely maintained. It is recommended that you have your boiler and other gas appliances serviced by a Registered Gas Installer at least once a year. If an appliance appears not to be operating properly, turn off and have it serviced by a Registered Gas Installer (RGI). If your appliances are ageing, or are not in good condition, it is very important to have a safety inspection conducted by a Registered Gas Installer (RGI).
