Third Grade News  

  

Free Dress on Monday Sept. 16: If your child attended the 9/15, 9:30am mass, they have free dress on Monday.  Back to School Night Revisited: This is a reminder that I will have a Back to School Night on Tuesday, Sept. 17 @ 5:30. You can leave your child in Eagles Nest while we have our 20 minute meeting. Please email me and let me know if you plan to attend. Thanks!  Student Holiday.- Friday, Sept. 20 there will be no school. (Teacher Workday)  

Please remember to email me AND Michelle Webster at the office if your child will be absent for any reason.

 Peek to our learning this week: 

 

Phonics: Our spelling words for this week will focus adding -s and -es to words . For grammar this week, we will focus on adverbs. We will also study a group of words in our Wordly Wise workbook using context clues to find their meanings. 

ELA: Students will practice how to identify the main message of Thank You, Mr. Falker. We will also learn how to sort key details and describe what the main character wanted and what they did.  

Math: We will finish our unit on addition and subtraction within 1,000.  

Religion: Christ Will Come Again. John 11:1-3;17-44 , Matthew 25:31-43, Mark 12:28-32 

  

Science: Students will learn about how fossil dinosaur tracks reveal how quickly a dinosaur was running.   

Social Studies: Students will discover the four regions of California and will identify geographical features in their local region (e.g., deserts, mountains, valleys, hills, coastal areas, oceans and lakes). Students will trace their community over time and learn about the American hero, John Muir.
