Thirteenth Sunday in
Ordinary Time July 2, 2017
O God, We thank you for this earth, our home; for the wide sky and the blessed sun, for the salt sea and the running water, for the everlasting hills and the never-resting winds, for trees and the common grass underfoot. We thank you for our senses by which we hear the songs of birds, and see the splendor of the summer fields and taste of the autumn fruits, and rejoice in the feel of the snow, and smell and breath of the spring. Grant us a heart wide open to all this beauty; and save our souls from being so blind that we pass unseeing when even the common thorn-bush is aflame with your glory, O God our creator, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen Thank you, Father, for having created us and given us to each other in the human family. Thank you for being with us in all our joys, and sorrows, for your comfort in our sadness. Your companionship in our loneliness. Thank you for yesterday, today, tomorrow and for the whole of our lives. Thank you for friends, for health and for grace. May we live this and every day conscious of all that has been given to us. Amen

Advent Reconciliation Service
Wednesday, December 13th, 7pm
Prepare for the Christmas Season by
celebrating the Sacrament
of Reconciliation during Advent!
Pope Francis tells us “God never tires of forgiving us …
We are the ones who tire of seeking his mercy. With a tenderness which never disappoints, but is
always capable of restoring our joy, he makes it possible for us to lift up our heads and start anew.”
Come home to God,
feel his warm embrace and his gentle forgiveness. Let everyone feel sought after, loved and forgiven
by God.
Thanksgiving, Nov, 23, 9am Mass Office Closed: Nov, 22, 23, 24
Thanksgiving Baskets
Our Saint Vincent de Paul food cupboard is asking for help in providing Thanksgiv-ing food to our neighbors in need. Thanksgiving baskets will be given out on Tuesday, November 21st, to families who might otherwise lack the resources to celebrate this day. We will also provide ready to eat hams and other treats for clients without cooking facilities. This year, we expect to provide 40 baskets containing a turkey and everything needed for Thanksgiving Dinner. The cost for this is about $40 per basket. If you would like to help us to continue this important ministry, your monetary donation would be greatly appreciated. Please make your check payable to St. Vincent de Paul and note “Thanksgiving Food” on the memo line. Checks can be placed in the collection basket at Mass or dropped off at the parish office.
For questions: please call Pat 831.657.4297
For details about receiving a basket, please
visit the Food Cupboard on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 1:30 to 2:30,
in the Small Hall
You’re invited to celebrate a special Mass
Friday, December 8, at 6:30pm with Bishop Richard Garcia
To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the first Mass in our church on the 8th of December 1957
Reception following in the Hall
Remembering the Deceased
We remember our deceased loved ones during the month of November in special ways. One way is by inscribing their names in the
Book of the Names of the Dead, which will be in the church during the month of November by the lighted Paschal candle and Baptismal font.
THANK YOU Fr. Ron Fr. Ron Shirley has, for the past six months, been in residence here at St. Angels Merici. I appreciate the help Fr. Ron has given to our parish commu-nity during that time. Bishop Richard Garcia has requested that Fr. Ron help at San Carlos Cathedral, Monterey. Fr. Ron will take up residence there on November 28th. We wish Fr. Ron every good wish and blessing as he takes up residence at San Carlos.

It is with great excitement that we announce that this year’s St. Angela’s Preschool Food & Wine Fundraiser has made $20,000. An ENORMOUS thank you goes out to an excep-tionally generous group of St. Angela Merici parishioners and friends who supplied desserts and other goodies, (deviled eggs, charcuterie and silent auction items), to help enhance this year’s fundrais-er. Thank you to: Miranda Morris, Sheri Abramonte, Cindy Angeli, Maureen Brill, Laura Coen, Yumi Deakyne, Kathleen Fischer, Bobbie Forlano, Ann Martin, Suzanne Graybill, Gloria Kim, Eileen Klein, Betsy Messman, Bobbie Morrison, Ursula Soares, Michele Neisess, Pat Nickerson, Linda Pagnella, Nanci Perocchi, Rebecca Soliz-Fuller, Emma Vetter, Kathleen Wall, Ann Wieser, Pauline Chow-Hoon and Virginia Wijbrandus for helping to make this year’s event a huge suc-cess. BRAVO everyone! This is a wonderful achievement and these funds will go a long way in helping the beautification of our school, new play yard equipment, updating cur-riculum materials, special events for our children and other facility improvements.
