The starting point of A NEW IMAGE FOR PINOCCHIO was a

“multi-reading” of what it became in more than 130 years: there was

a Disney’s Pinocchio cartoon and even three illustrated books by

Jacovitti; there was one on RAI TV by Comencini and another one is

actually work-in-progress for Guillermo Del Toro.

But who was Pinocchio by Collodi? And today, who is Pinocchio?

Thinking that and other questions... the project took its way...

...and the new image CAME OUT OF THE BOOK!!!

Font “TYPE-NIP” was exspressly designed for this contest.

Starting from BERLIN SANS FB, this font is a light version and it has irregular

thickness characters, with reference to the calligraphic brush used for new

Pinocchio image outline. See sample below:

Font “COLLODI” was exspressly designed for this contest.

Starting from WINDSONG, the characters were simplified and elaborated less

than original, in order to look like a primary school script. See sample below:
