Dave Volk and his Remaining FriendsIm excited to be anchoring a bluegrass show with some great players whom I will fea-ture. I am a respectable singer and player (I won some awards) but dont like to brag. My guitar style is that of Clarence White. Ive been fortunate to jam with several of the Kentucky Colonels since I moved to LA. Our set list will include Bill Monroe and Flatt and Scruggs standards, as well as some songs Clarence was known for like Alabama Jubilee and Never Ending Song. Bill Peck will be on banjo and he is an amazing player having spent some years with the Banjomania group. Ron Sutton will be on Dobro and he has been in the Woodstock Mt Review with Bill Keith etc. Mike Stein will be on fiddle and he has spent an entire career with the Navy band Country Current which in-cluded Bill Emerson. Ron Vance will play bass and he is a fine player Ive worked with a few years now. We have a couple surprises including bluegrass arrangements of an Ellington tune, a Beatles song and maybe a Christmas song that Bill Monroe recorded. The show will be energetic and fun. Hope to have you join us then.
