Title: Pupils went back home by walking without notifying teachers, bus driver and

parents

This school usually let pupils went back at 2.30 for every Wednesday. Every

Wednesday the school has provided the slot after 12.30 for co curriculum activities.

But, to some adjustment the co curriculum activities on that day is cancelled. So theteacher has decided to let pupils went back at 2.00. the problem arises because

usually some of this pupils went back home by bus, and the bus driver often pick

them up at 2.30.

Due to short notice the bus driver didnt know that they have to come early

that day. To make matter worse some of these pupils who supposed to go home by

bus make a decision to walk to their home. When they arrived at home their parent

were shock to found out that their children went home walking, because the distance

of their walk is quite far and very dangerous. The shocked parents call school to

seek for the school administration explanation on this matter. School administration

did not know that this pupils taking this risky action and apologized for their mistake.

During the weekly meeting the head of co curriculum activities has address

this matter to all teachers and has decided that after the incidents the school will not

allows pupils to leave earlier than the usual time. Any cancellation of activities will

resulted in no early leave unless school administration address the pupilsearlier or

formal letter issued to the pupils parents. If the teacher had mention earlier, pupils

who usually went home by bus need to address the bus driver to pick them up early.

The matter is considered very serious and school will not want this matter occurring

again since it will lead to bad consequences to pupils and definitely the school.

I felt that this unexpected problem is quite difficult to predict because you in

one hand pity the students and want they went to home early to rest but on the otherhand this students jeopardize their own safety by walking home without the

knowledge of teacher, bus driver and parents. If anything bad happen school will

held responsible because letting the pupils leaves before the usual time without early

notice.

I agreed on the action taken by the school administrator upon dealing with this

incident. School need to be strict with their action so that they can avoid this incident

from happening again and to protect the safety of the pupils while protecting the

image of the school. I also think that after this school authority should avoid

cancelling activities in the last minutes if possible because this kind of action always

resulted to uncertain or unpredictable outcome and seldom will lead to very bad

consequences. I also think that paperwork is a must for any event or any change for

every school schedule or planning.
