Next Appanoose County Collaboration Council Meeting The Appanoose County Collaboration Council will meet on Monday, May 19 on the 2nd floor of the Drake Public Library. Subway will be provided for lunch.
Business Leadership Network Luncheon & Community Forum The University of Iowa College of Public Health invites southern Iowa business and community leaders and educators to a free luncheon and community forum to discuss their ideas for making their communities healthier and safer. The College is building a Business Leadership Network in 16 southern Iowa counties to explore ways to work together. The luncheon keynote is on cyber-bullying and efforts to reach youth through a theatrical production on the issue. Following lunch, roundtable discussions will focus on cyber-bullying in schools and the workplace, workplace health and safety, aging populations and the workforce, and community and behavioral health. Looking for a Lead the Way project for your business? The Centerville Wine and Arts Festival (June 14) and the Centerville Children’s Arts Festival (June 28) are both looking for volunteers. For the Wine Festival, volunteer opportunities including setting up fencing and tents, working the admissions gates and cleaning up. For the Children’s Arts Festival, volunteer opportunities include setting up tents and tables, helping with the art activities (no artistic skills required) and cleaning up. These are FUN events and would make great volunteer projects for a business! Call the Chamber for details!
