God wants to reach out to us to heal us and forgive us of our sins. He also wants us to remember that we were forgiven so we will not judge others. Luke 7:36-50, Jesus Anointed HANGING OUT: Make this week’s lesson real: Are there any reminders in your home of times when something went wrong? A broken door, a chipped piece of China, something that has scars from an accidental or intentional break? This week, talk about some of those mishaps, and thank God for loving you in spite of any imperfections. AT DINNER: Here are some great discussion starters: - Why did the woman want to wash Jesus’ feet? - What lesson, through the telling of a parable, did Jesus teach the Pharisee? - Why do we all need God to touch us and forgive us? AT BEDTIME: Quiz your child on this week’s memory verse: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” - Matthew 6:33 (NIV) PARENT TIME: What you need to know: Kids learn to judge others by listening to adults, especially their parents. Ask God to give you and all of your family members a loving heart. Ask for his help that your family will not judge, but will instead pray for everyone you meet. Welcome all in love, and remember that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
