GUILD POINSETTIA SALE DURING COFFEEHOUR
St. Margaret’s Guild will hold their annual poinsettia
sale during coffeehour in the parish hall. A variety
of gorgeous plants will be available so stop by!
WARM TREE — DONATIONS WELCOME
Our youth have put up a “Warm Tree” in the nar-
thex with ornaments that ask for specific donations
of needed items for identified youth at our local
middle school (i.e., hats, gloves, blankets). Volun-
teers are needed to purchase the described items
and return them in a bag with the ornament as
well. Items can be placed under the tree or in a
designated box in the parish hall.
CHILDREN’S CHAPEL AT THE 9 A.M. SERVICE
Our Children’s Chapel program for ages three to
six years takes place during the 9 a.m. service. The
children leave the nave during the sequence
hymn following behind the cross which will come
down the aisle and then go into the downstairs an-
nex classroom where they will hear a bible story
and enjoy music together before rejoining their
parents at the Peace.
NURSERY AVAILABLE
Children are very special to us here at St.
Margaret’s, and we have a lovely, newly refur-
bished nursery in our annex building that adjoins
our sanctuary (down a short flight of stairs). We
have experienced, loving professionals ready to
welcome our little guests from infants to age 3 from
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
STEWARDSHIP
We are STILL collecting Stewardship pledge cards
in today’s offering plate. Cards are available in the
church pews and in the sanctuary narthex. You
can also pledge online on our website under the
“Giving” tab at the top. Thank you for your gener-
osity.
ADVENT BOOK STUDY SESSION AT 10:20 A.M.
The Rev. Peter Mayer will lead a study session on
our Advent book “Awaiting the Already” during
coffeehour in the new fellowship hall this morning.
The book walks through the story of Christ’s birth as
shared in each Gospel. This morning, we will be
discussing Luke. Even if you have not read the
book, you are welcome and books will be on sale
before the session.
Sessions:
*Monday morn-
ings at 10 a.m. in the formation building with the
Rev. Jane Hague (Dec. 5, 12, 19);
*Monday evenings at 6:45 p.m. in the formation
building with Valery Weekly (same dates as
above);
*Sunday mornings at 10:20 a.m. in the fellowship
hall with the Rev. Peter Mayer (Dec. 4, 11, 18).
If books are still available, they will be on sale for
$10 in the Parish Hall on Sundays or you can or-
der at Amazon.com.
We’re using “Awaiting the Al-
ready” for our Advent study this
year. This book takes a tour
through the four Gospel narratives
that announce Christ's birth or
make way for his ministry. Readers
will discover what parts of the
Christmas story come from which
Gospel to prepare for a fresh expe-
rience of Christ in the past and the
future.

Warm Tree — Help Local Teens This Christmas
Our youth group is working to provide 25 local boys and girls each with socks, a blanket, a hat and a pair
of gloves, for a total of one hundred items. We have a tree up in the narthex with ornaments specifying
what item is needed that we ask parishioners to take and purchase. You can leave your donation either
under the tree in the Narthex, or in a box we will place in the Parish Hall. Grab an ornament! Help a child
feel the warmth of your love! (Word has it that if they collect all 100 items by next Sunday, the Rev. Peter
Mayer will dress up as Elsa from the Disney movie "Frozen" to symbolize the warmth we are sharing with
these middle school kids! Who doesn't want to see that?)
Christmas Meal Baskets—Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to provide a Christmas dinner for local needy families this season. The Missions
Commission will provide the hams; volunteers are needed to provide the fixings for the rest of the meal
and deliver it to the recipient a few days BEFORE Christmas Day. No cooking involved. Hams -or turkeys for
any who abstain from pork - will be available at the church on Sunday, Dec. 18, or by separate arrange-
ment. You will receive the name of your recipient and complete delivery instructions from coordinator Bar-
bara Marder If you can help, please contact her at 410-518-9978 or [email protected].
Christmas Caroling Next Sunday
All are welcome to join SMC families for our annual caroling day. We will be leaving after Sunday School
next Sunday and visiting shut-in parishioners. We will return for a youth Christmas party (middle and high
school students) afterwards. Drivers are needed. If you plan to attend, please let Jenelle or Jeff know.
Vestry Candidates Wanted for 2017

considered for the vestry starting in 2017. The Vestry is the governing body of St. Margaret’s Church, with
each member elected at the January annual meeting to serve a three-year term. Interested parishioners
