Event Analysis Event Analysis

Event Analysis shows how specific events, such as corporate earnings announcements, dividend payouts, significant developments, or stock splits, have affected a company's stock price in the past. To help you pinpoint and predict trends, you can specify the type of event, date range, and columns to display, as well as view the information in a chart and compare the company's performance to a relevant index. You can also set up custom drill-downs for quick access to more detailed information, which you can use to spot price trends that occur after these events are reported, which can help you make informed trading decisions.

Volume at Price Volume at Price

Volume At Price provides analytical data to help determine support and resistance levels of US equities. It displays trade volume and percentage of volume at the bid, mid and ask for the past thirty days, and includes the inquiry time, block percentage, average trade and the Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) for the period the equity data is requested. The peak volume levels for the bid, mid and ask, as well as the totals, are highlighted.

VWAP calculates how effectively a trade is being worked, so traders often use it to compare their trades against it over a specified period of time. For example, if a trader gets an order at 10:00 and finishes it by 12:00, he often wants to compare his transaction with the VWAP over that same period.

This feature is particularly useful for Buy-Side Traders who track the trade activity of their stocks throughout the day. It helps them determine market timing to ensure good execution.

Technical Summary Thomson ONE Summary Pages

Thomson ONE Summary Pages offers key technical market data. They consolidate information from other features for buy- and sell-side traders, sales-traders and portfolio managers. The Technical Page contains seven categories of data Quote, Trades Summary, Averages, Performance, Pricing, Ownership and Risk that include price, volume, float, performance and volatility data.

Short Interest Short Interest

Short Interest shows the total number of shares sold short and not yet repurchased. The display includes three visual representations:

A table with the total number of shares sold short, the average daily volume and the short-interest ratio (short interest/average daily volume over the month) for the past thirteen months.

A bar and line chart, graphically depicting the information from the table.

A line graph of the short-interest ratio. Short Interest is a monthly compilation, by the exchanges, of the total number of shares of a security that customers and securities firms have sold short as of the 15th. This data is available for North American Securities. TSX reports Short Interest twice a month: on the 15th and on the last day of the month. Days to Cover looks at the number of days required to cover all the short positions outstanding based on normal trading volume.

Comparing Short Interest and Days to Cover helps a trader identify how bearish or bullish a stock is by calculating how many days of normal trading volume it would take to cover the total short position outstanding for that company. It shows what short sellers are doing, which allows traders to gauge overall market sentiment surrounding a particular stock.

Options Montage Options Montage The Options Montage displays and dynamically updates options and the most recent expanded quote for the underlying security requested.

Futures Montage Futures Montage The Futures Montage lists all futures contracts and the spot price (if available) for a commodity or financial instrument.

Futures Options Montage Futures Options Montage The Future Options Montage displays all options for a particular future contract, in one of three formats: Paired, Extended or Extended2. All three allow you to display calls and puts.
