Being my first marathon, the Gold Coast Marathon was certainly memorable. The race started wet and cold but with the rain came a beautiful rainbow. Crowd support was amazing as people came out of their houses to offer runners sweet treats. I lost count of the number of children who gave me high fives. It was an awesome race experience and I couldn’t ask for more.

I have done many Triathlon races overseas before but this is my first overseas marathon race. REASONS TO RUN GOLD COAST

In 2019, I participated in my second Gold Coast Marathon with my running club, X-Runners and Scenic Travel. Despite unforeseen weather conditions, I managed to set a new personal best and qualify for Boston Marathon all thanks to the flat, fast course and electrifying crowd support.

Running brings people together. Through traveling with Scenic Travel, we met many runners from the running community and forged new bonds. We also had a holiday and visited iconic sights such as Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Miami Marketta.

It was my first Gold Coast Marathon in 2019 and my goal was to achieve my PB on this famous flat and fast course!
