Become Thor, God of Thunder, as he battles to save his home of Asgard. Wielding the iconic Mjolnir, Thor's legendary hammer, fight across multiple Norse worlds, controlling elemental storm powers to overcome hordes of deadly foes with devastating lightning bolts, earthshaking thunder and mighty blasts of wind that can sweep away throngs of enemies.Battle through mythological realms inhabited by classic enemies lifted from the pages of the comics, including Ulik, Ymir, and Surtur, in a clash that extends to extraordinary planets filled with Ice Titans, Trolls and other mammoth opponents. This game is played in Nunchuk Style (Wii Remote + Nunchuk). Connect the Nunchuk to the Wii Remote before you play.

MENU CONTROLSABOUT PROFILESA profile contains your save data. Store your game progress, settings and collectibles in up to three profiles.

To create a profile, select one of the blank profiles (CREATE will be highlighted). For existing profile(s), LOAD or DELETE can be selected. Note that once created or loaded, this profile will be selected when you select CONTINUE GAME, until another one is created or loaded.

Main MenuAt the Main Menu, please select from the following:

CONTINUE GAME

Continue the game from where you left off, using the profile you used the last time. This selection will not be available the very first time you play this game (or if you don't have any profiles created).

CHOOSE PROFILE

Select the profile or create a new one. You will advance to the Profile Screen (p.6).

OPTIONSMake adjustments to the audio/video settings, subtitles and Rumble Feature. The settings will be saved onto the last profile you used.

CREDITS View a list of staff responsible for bringing you this game.

ABOUT AUTOSAVEGames are saved automatically at key points during the game. Take care not to switch the power to OFF while saving is in progress.

PROFILE

UPGRADESWith the Storm Tokens you've earned, upgrades can be purchased for Thor's abilities. You can only select from the upgrades that are unlocked.

RUNESRunes are power-up items that can be applied to Mjolnir to enhance Thor's abilities. In the beginning you can only apply one rune, but with upgrades you can increase the number of runes that can be applied by up to four. The window at the bottom right of the Profile screen indicates the current rune(s) applied to Mjolnir.

DIFFICULTYChange difficulty level of the game.

OPTIONSMake adjustments to the audio/video settings, subtitles and Rumble Feature.

Select a profile on the Main Menu to bring up the Profile screen. This screen can also be accessed during the game by pressing the 2 Button, though it will have slightly different menu items.

COSTUMESBy default, Thor wears the costume seen in the feature film. During the game, you may find collectible items that will allow you to change his costume to those designed by famous comic book artists. Can you find them all?

Note: New costumes can only be selected in the Main Menu.

HELPMost of the on-screen advice that appeared can be viewed here. If you're lost on how to perform certain moves or you want to know what certain objects do, look here.

Note: This can only be selected while the game is paused.

WORLD TREEReplay levels you've already played, or view original concept art/movie scenes that are unlocked.

•❶ Health Meter (Red): Thor is defeated when this runs out and he will need to restart from the last checkpoint.

•❷ Odinforce Meter (Blue]: Using Storm Powers cost Odinforce, and decreases this meter when used. Thor cannot use this attack if he doesn't have enough power.

•❸ Experience Meter & Storm Token: As you defeat enemies and collect Golden Orbs (p.10), your experience will be accumulated here. If the meter reaches maximum, you will earn a Storm Token (here displayed next to the meter) which can be used to upgrade Thor's abilities. The meter will be reset to zero in the process.

•❹ Combo Meter: When you strike enemies in succession, this meter increases. Higher combos automatically provide more powerful finisher move variations, starting at 20. The meter will reset if you do not make a successful hit before it disappears.

•❺ Boss Health Meter: Displayed only while facing the bosses. Deplete it completely to defeat them.

•❻ Storm Powers Indicator: This indicator will be displayed when you hold the +Control Pad •. The arrow directions indicate the Storm Powers (p.9) that can be used (Lightning Storm, Charged Hammer or Cyclone). Swing the Wii Remote in your choice of direction to use the Storm Powers.

•❼ Target Reticule: Used to aim the Storm Power attacks (Lightning Bolt and Storm Cage). It will not be displayed until these attacks become available.

GAME CONTROLSSome moves may not be available until Thor learns how to perform them.

Power Attacks deal greater damage. Here are some of the possible variations:

UppercutSwing the Wii Remote vertically. This attack launches smaller enemies into the air. It can start an air combo.

SweepSwing the Wii Remote sideways (left or right) sharply. This attack will send smaller enemies flying backwards and staggers larger enemies.

GroundslamWhile jumping, swing the Wii Remote. Thor slams Mjolnir into the ground, causing a massive shockwave that tosses enemies backwards.

Thor can execute a number of powerful melee combos using Mjolnir:

Hammer Slam Combo

Press the A Button three times and then swing the Wii Remote, dealing great damage and calling down a lightning bolt to paralyze enemies.

Air Combo

Jump into the air (using the B Button) then press the A Button three times, then swing the Wii Remote to take out airborne foes. Thor slams downward onto a prone enemy inflicting massive damage.

MaelstromFirst new combo unlocked, swing the Wii Remote left then right to unleash a powerful area of effect attack.

Thor can block all but the most powerful enemy attacks. While blocking, swing the Wii Remote just as the enemy attacks to parry, staggering the enemy. After a successful parry, press the A Button to counterattack.

Blocking can also reflect projectiles, however they will not necessarily bounce back to their source. To reflect with accuracy, while blocking, swing the Wii Remote just before the impact.

Hammer Dash . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .+Control Pad •

Thor quickly dashes in the direction he is facing, damaging enemies in his way.

Dodge . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . +Control Pad • / •

Thor quickly dashes sideways. Effective for evading attacking enemies or projectiles.

The following three must be performed by entering Storm Powers Mode.Press and hold the +Control Pad •, and the Storm Powers Indicator will be displayed. While holding, swing the Wii Remote in a specific direction to perform:

Lightning Storm

Swing the Wii Remote vertically. Lightning rains down around Thor, damaging all enemies in the area.

Charged Hammer

Swing the Wii Remote to the right. This charges Mjolnir with electrical energy, increasing the damage done by melee attacks and Hammer Throws. Note that the Hammer Throw will end the Charged Hammer effects.

CycloneSwing the Wii Remote to the left. This power spawns a cyclone which bounces around damaging enemies.

Thor attacks by throwing Mjolnir. Thor must be in Hammer Throw Mode (whirling Mjolnir) by holding down the C Button, in order to throw.

UPGRADE YOUR ABILITIESThere are more advanced moves that can be obtained by upgrading. Access UPGRADE to obtain new moves, and access HELP to re-view how to perform them. See PROFILE (p.6) for details.

Storm PowersStorm Powers consume Odinforce. There are two types of Storm Powers, depending on how they are performed.

The following two use the Pointer to aim (move the target reticule), and a specific button to perform:

Lightning Bolt

Press the √ Button. This power unleashes a bolt of lightning that can be directed around the screen with the Pointer. The bolt can be discharged continuously until Odinforce runs out.

Wind CagePress the + Button. This power forms a tornado around the selected enemy (or enemies) which traps them in place for a given time.

Swinging Mjolnir is Thor's most basic attack.

FLIGHT MODEDuring some missions Thor will automatically take flight and lay waste to his enemies from the sky. Here, special controls come into effect.

Aim at the screen with the Wii Remote Pointer and tap the A Button to fire lightning bolts. Holding the A Button will allow you to select multiple targets and attack them all at once by releasing the A Button.

Thor flies forward automatically. Use the Control Stick to guide him and avoid obstacles.

Larger projectiles can be reflected. Press the Z Button just as the projectile reaches you to reflect them back.

Dodge . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . +Control Pad • / •Thor moves sideways quickly for a short distance. Use this when the obstacles get too close.

GRAPPLINGGrappling the bosses is one of the Feats of Strength interactions you will see whenever you weaken them to the point of finishing them off. Act quickly, or they'll recover.

You will find various interactions called "Feats of Strength." Move to the indicator and tap the C Button to initiate. Afterwards, follow the on-screen directions to either press the indicated button or swing the Wii Remote in the indicated direction. Beware though, while in the process of interaction, you may be defenseless against enemy attacks.

ORBSWhenever you defeat enemies, they will release orbs as a reward. Red Orbs refill your lost Health; Blue Orbs refill your lost Odinforce; Golden Orbs add to your experience. If you defeat enemies while your Combo Meter is high, you will increase your chances of earning orbs.

During the course of the game, you will also see Relics. Smash them to release the orbs contained inside.

COLLECTIBLESThroughout the game you will find various collectibles which are often hidden in hard-to-reach places or inside breakable objects. Some, like Runes, enhance Thor's abilities, while others unlock bonuses such as extra costumes and concept art.

• To equip any unlocked costumes, go to the COSTUMES section of the PROFILE screen.

• To equip any unlocked runes, go to the RUNES section of the PROFILE screen.

• To view any unlocked artwork, go to the WORLD TREE section of the PROFILE screen, then select the ART category.

THOR

LOKI

Mighty Thor is a prince of Asgard, son of Odin, and heir apparent to the Allfather of the Nine Worlds. His superhuman strength and the unimaginable power of Mjolnir, his hammer, make him more than a match for almost any foe.

Odin's adopted son and brother to Thor, Loki is outwardly a dutiful prince of Asgard. Inside, however, he envies Thor's powers and charisma and the attention he receives. A master of illusions, Loki plots and schemes, manipulating people and events to humble Thor and give him a chance to prove himself for once.

ODIN

SIFOne of the greatest warriors in all of Asgard and long-time friend of Thor. Her skill in combat is legendary even among the Asgardians. Odin believes she will one day be important to Thor's rule, as Frigga is to his.

Ruler of the Asgardians, father of Thor, Allfather to all. His power is beyond measure. He wants his sons, Thor and Loki, to grow to be responsible leaders, for one day the rule of Asgard and protection of the Nine Worlds will fall to them. He is stern and does not lightly tolerate defiance or questioning of his rule. When roused, his anger can be terrifying.

YMIR

SURTUR

One of the most ancient and powerful beings in the universe, Ymir is a giant-sized creature made of ice and freezing mist

who existed even before Odin. His hatred for Asgard

began eons ago, and he has led the Frost Giants in war against Asgard countless times.

Surtur is the ruler of Muspelheim and one of Asgard's eldest and most deadly foes. A giant-sized fire demon, Surtur wields the massive sword Twilight. Surtur has an unyielding hatred of all Asgardians, particularly Odin. He wants for nothing but to lead his forces against Asgard, reclaim the Eternal Flame and bring about Ragnarok.

ULIK

MANGOG

Ulik is the strongest of the Trolls and ruler of Vanaheim. Both more intelligent and more powerful than others of his kind, Ulik is the pinnacle of Troll evolution. He values strength above all else, and rightly considers himself one of the strongest beings in the universe. Eager to pit his strength against any who would dare challenge him, Ulik finds in Thor a worthy opponent.

Mangog was created by Odin and turned loose on the Vanir. Mangog consumed their souls and went mad as a result.
