Have a go at making your own Mjolnir – Thor’s famous hammer.

If you had been in that fateful gift-making competition how do you think you would have done?

Would you have been a worthy maker of Mjolnir; would you have been Brokk and Eitri?

Now is your chance to find out. Follow the instructions below to make your very own ‘lightning maker’.

Be sure to decorate it to be worthy of Thor himself.

A rectangular tissue box (full or empty)

A cardboard kitchen towel tube

Aluminium foil

Tape (silver duct tape would be ideal)

Paper (coloured or plain to wrap your hammer)

Felt pens and coloured pencils for decorating

You will need…Peel the perforated opening off the tissue box. (You can leave the tissues in the box to give it more weight or use it empty).

Stand the paper towel tube in

the opening of the tissue box.

(the plastic film in the opening

will help hold the tube in place).

Secure with tape.

How to make it…

Scrunch up some tin foil and stuff it down the tube. This will give the handle more strength. Cover the end of the tube with tape to stop the tin foil from falling out.

Now you can decorate your hammer. You could cover it all over in silver tape or wrap it in plain paper and decorate it however you like.
