by not only catalyzing new ideas and startups, but also by
implementing our “reciprocal value proposition” so that our
next generation innovators can tackle a variety of strategic,
real-world projects for major organizations.
There is still so much more to do, and thanks to your sup-
port and encouragement, we are energized to dream even
bigger and go even further. We can’t wait to see what the
next year has in store.
Thank you for being part of our TFF family!
With dedication to food security and the next generation,

Executive Director
There are two powerful forces confronting us that will shape
the future of humankind: global climate change and the
need to feed a burgeoning population.
Addressing these urgent and deeply interconnected forces
requires an unprecedented level of innovation and global
collaboration. With the world’s population expected to rise
40% in the next 35 years, we must ask the crucial question:
how will we feed 9+ billion people in 2050?
The good news is that we have access to a wealth of new
technologies and information, as well as the ability to tap
into more brilliant minds than ever before. As the tools of
innovation become increasingly democratized, the power to
create change is transferred from the global elite to a wider
range of individuals in all geographies.
Thought For Food (TFF) believes truly transformative inno-
vation requires that we leverage one of our most valuable
resources: next generation innovators. These leaders of the
millennial generation are curious, collaborative, experimen-
tal and unafraid to confront the world’s prevailing assump-
tions in order to uproot the status quo. They’re tech savvy,
connected and masters at creating impact. And, most
importantly, they are passionate about making a difference.
TFF is the world’s leading organization of next generation
innovators for food security. Comprised of over 5,000 uni-
versity students and recent graduates from more than 100
countries – and growing every year – our tribe represents
some of the smartest young minds on the planet. Game-
changers. World-shapers. However you want to describe us,
we are driven by an insatiable curiosity about all the endless
possibilities ahead. We understand that, right now, for the
first time ever, passionate and committed individuals like us
have access to the technology, brainpower and capital re-
quired to take on any challenge and make a real difference.
We couldn’t be prouder of all that we have accomplished
together through the years – and 2015/16 was our best one
yet! We are working with more students, universities and
impact partners than ever before. Our epic annual Summit
has become a must-attend event for anyone involved or
interested in the future of food and ag. We are invited to
share our unique thought leadership at world-leading con-
ferences. And, we are expanding our impact in food and ag

TFF Global Summit
The 3rd edition of our two-day Global Summit inspired
endless possibilities in the 350+ participants. By showcas-
ing how some of the world’s most common assumptions in
food and agriculture are being turned on their heads, the
TFF Global Summit served as a space for innovators across
generations, disciplines, and cultures to come together and
challenge conventional rules and boundaries in food and
agriculture, fundamentally shifting paradigms in the name
of impact.
“It was one of the best events I have been to ever.”
– Rob Neil, Syngenta
By uprooting assumptions, we created new opportunities.
Humbled by the creativity and ambition of our TFF global
community and our ever-growing following, we believe that
the TFF Global Summit put a small dent in the universe and
laid a strong foundation towards reshaping how we think
about and act upon innovation in food and agriculture.
“People at the summit made me believe that reaching our
common goal for food security is achievable through global
collaboration and successful funding into effective solu-
tions.” – Brittany Dahl, Australian National University
The talented TFF Summit speakers brought with them
perspectives from rural to urban, from growing crops under
the sea to outer space, from low tech impact to high tech
techniques and everything in between. The thought-provok-
ing plenary talks displayed the significance and motivation
that uprooting assumptions have on making an impact on
the future.
