CUSTOMER SERVICESTRAIGHT TALK

REJECTED ITEMS

The day has finally arrived! Your closet has been closely analyzed and gotten a major makeover. The clothes you are ready to send in sit at the foot of your bed, folded and ready to be shipped to Threadflip in your kit.

After reading last week’s post, you have a good idea of what we accept, but there are still a few items that you might be wondering about. Therefore, we thought we would also go over what items are rejected in our processing facility and why.

There are the categories we check for:

• Type of product• Condition of product• Age of Product• Brand name

If an item qualifies in these three, they will pass through the inventory inspection process.

Type of Product

• Here are the types of merchandise you do not accept:

• Men’s clothing or shoes (with the exception of unisex hats, eyewear, neckwear, jewelry and bags)

• Children’s clothing, shoes and accessories

• Costume items (includes masks, seasonal costume packages, wigs, makeup, props, etc.)

• Electronics (with the exception of iPhone and iPad cases and accessories)

• Cosmetics, perfume and beauty products

• Lingerie (includes bras, sports bras, panties, and lingerie sets but does not include bra tops such as bustiers and corsets)

•Home goods (includes items used in the home and made in the home. We do not accept any handmade items in the Threadflip marketplace)

•Counterfeit Goods - This may seem like an obvious item, but some sellers have tried to get away with it. Our team is very strict on sellers trying to sell any fake, replica, counterfeit, or knock-off items, or other items that bear a manufacturer’s official brand or logo that were not lawfully made by, for or with the consent of such manufacturer. This includes and is not limited to: replicas, “no brand”, “look-a-like” or “inspired-by” pieces, and any merchandise that resembles designer items. Any such items uploaded or sold will either be removed or canceled without notification to the seller.

If a buyer purchases, receives, and reports a fake item, the seller will be required to not only accept the return, but will also be responsible for the return cost of shipping. The seller is also likely to have their account suspended or banned from the community.

Diligence is the key

When thinking about whether or not to send something in, think it through. Are the bottoms of the pants frayed? Are all buttons accounted for? Does the zipper work?

There is a golden rule we follow pretty closely… “Would you be happy to purchase this item yourself?”

This leads us to….

Age of Product

Styles change quickly. A good rule of thumb is to send in items made in the last 1 - 5 years. Outside of collectible, designer vintage, there are tried and true staples that have stood the test of time. These include: skinny jeans, ankle boots, and Wayfarer sunglasses to name a few. Outside of these staples pieces, there are probably not many buyers looking for that 90’s dress suit.

Brand Name

You can always refer to our FAQ for a list of brands we do not accept. That one is pretty straightforward.

Do you have any more questions about the items we reject? If so, leave them in the comments section so we can answer them! You can always find us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram too!

Condition of Product

As mentioned, we also have a high standard for the quality and condition which acceptable items must be in. Below are the standards we follow when accepting and rejecting items:

• Items with visible wear (Stains, tears, odors, discoloration, design flaws, or missing components)

• Items missing tag(s) to identify brand

• Any designer items that are fake or fraudulent

• If the item falls under any of these, it will probably be rejected.
