Organization must sign up first with Thrivent (not all organizations will qualify) Must be one of the organization types listed in

$24 Million Nationally (first come, first served*) $1.52 mil. used as of 4/11/2005

Gifts for all membership types ($50 min. gift reqm’t and Assoc. Member gift limitations eliminated effective January 1, 2005. No changes to “Member Benefits” or election eligibility. )

Gifts up to $600 or more, to 2 different organizations per year, matched 50 cents on the dollar, up to $300.

Multiple gifts can be made to reach the full $600. 2005 deadline – Postmarked to Thrivent by Jan. 14, 2006

Volunteer Bonus – Applies to both membership types!

If a donor volunteers 25 or more hours per year with the organization, Thrivent Financial will contribute an extra $25

Membership Eligibility

A person is eligible to become a member if he/she:

Professes to be Lutheran and is a current or former member of a Lutheran congregation

ORIs a non-Lutheran who has an eligible family

relationship to a Thrivent member*

Is a non-Lutheran who is currently affiliated with a Lutheran organization**

*Eligible relationships under our guidelines are: spouse, widow/widower, sibling, child, parent, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent (includes great), grandchild (includes great). Does not include brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.

**Examples are employee of a Lutheran school, student, parent of student etc. See membership application for full list.

Types of Membership

Members age 16+ who have insurance or annuity contracts issued by Thrivent Financial are “benefit members”

All other members age 16+ are “associate members”. Associate members with another type of Thrivent Financial product (including mutual funds) do not need to pay $10 to be members.

Associate members who do not have any Thrivent Financial products may join Thrivent Financial by paying an annual $10 family membership fee. They are called “family associate members.”

Recruit 10 to 15 donors to support your campaign and donate unrestricted funds to your organization Be sure to send in these donations to be matched by

GivingPlus™!

Have a kickoff promotion, where the seed donors offer testimonials and recruit Family Associate Members Encourage each seed donor to recruit 5 to 10 Family Associate

members each If a donor is willing to donate only $100, suggest that they

write one check to Thrivent Financial for $10 for the membership fee, and the remaining $90 to your organization. This way the organization will receive a total of $135!
