Through research via The UK Tribes website (a site in cooperation with Channel 4), we looked for the correct ideas and subject matter that your average teenage girl or boy would like. We went through seven questions focused around the teenage mind, the ideas that teenagers have and what they get up to with the demographic that would like our main task in any form, and what we ended up with was the idea that our target demographic mostly consists of “townies”, party goers who buy their clothes from River Island, save up for scorching holidays, and watch Saturday night TV. This audience works for us because it is the average teenager encapsulated in a single word. Considering we made a main task in the independent genre featuring a young protagonist, this is the audience we wanted.
When it comes to the clothing our audience members usually would dress in, it would be akin to what’s above this text, as it fits a young demographic and comes from a name brand.
The food companies above represent the kind of food our audience member would eat; a mix of fast food and higher class places like Nando’s and KFC.
