Everyone has a story to tell.
What is your child’s favourite story?
Infants concert tonight!
6pm in the school hall.
As you may be aware one of
our students was involved in
an accident at the crossing
on Malbon Street yesterday
afternoon.
In this case the child was very lucky to escape
with bruises and a mild concussion.
We would like to remind you
that children must always
get off their bikes to cross the
road and wearing a bike
helmet is compulsory by law.
Packing a healthy school lunchbox
When children eat well they behave
better, are able to listen well and
concentrate for longer. Packing a
healthy school lunchbox will help
children to learn and play well and be
happy at school.
Calling all green thumbs we need
your help?
The Garden Club is having a stall
at the Twilight Fair on the 21st
October. Seeds, seedlings, plant
and produce donations are
needed. Get planting now and
help us raise funds to keep the
schools garden productive and
beautiful.
Contact: Alex James
or 0406 338 850 for info or to
donate.
Garden Club News and Events
Spring has sprung and the school’s Garden Club kids have been busy in the vegetable
patch and maintaining the keyhole and native plant gardens. This semester we did
some lovely activities with our budding green thumbs. Wattle inspired gift cards and
mini green houses for Father’s Day was a highlight for many.
The Patch at the school is going great guns the Garden Grubs have been harvesting
lettuce for the school canteen, nurturing swelling garlic bulbs, planting potatoes, car-
rots, beetroot and herbs. Our soils have been enriched by planting a green manure
crop over winter and they are bursting with life just waiting for summer crops.
In term four we would love some more parent helpers to keep this great activity going
and support our current volunteers. Can you help? We meet Mondays at about 10.30
am and do gardening activities with the Garden Club kids at lunch time 11.10 – 12.10
pm. You don’t have come every week and any time is appreciated.
Contact Bungendore Primary school at [email protected] or
Michelle Johnson at [email protected] (0418 110 235) if you can help or to
find out more.
Jump Rope
for Heart
Next Friday 23rd September is our

Uniform Shop News
Opening hours
Our last day open for this term will be Friday
16th September between 2:45-3:45pm.
If you are unable to get to the uniform shop
during these hours, please complete the
order form and leave with the office. All
orders left at the office will be filled on
Friday’s during the shop opening hours.
Fundraising for our kids and school
Did you know that every dollar that is raised
by the P&C goes back into our school
benefiting your children. So far this year we
have
Subsidised travel costs for excursions,
Purchased new home readers,
Purchased over $2000 worth of musical
instruments
and have successfully received a grant from
the Bendigo bank for an interactive LED
panel in 1D so that every child at our school
has an interactive white board in their
classroom to expand the learning
opportunities available to them.
These resources and support for the school
can not happen without significant funding
raised by the P&C. We would like to thank
everyone for their contribution and ask that
you assist us for our final fundraisers for 2016.
Bunnings BBQ
Kate has kindly organised a BBQ at Bunnings
to raise money for our P&C on Saturday 1st
October in Fyshwick. Please volunteer a
couple of hours of your time through SignUp

seeking people interested in having a market
stall to sell their products or promote services.
If you're interested in having a stall at the fair
please contact Kylie Evans via email;
If you're also keen to coordinate a stall on
the night, please contact us so we can get
the ball rolling. Our next fair meeting is
Wednesday 21st September, 6:30pm in the
staff room. Please come along and lend a
hand.
The Partners in Learning Parent Feedback survey
This Term, Bungendore School will be participating in the Partners in Learning parent sur-
vey, another part of the Tell Them From Me suite of surveys, on student engagement. The
survey asks parents and carers questions about different factors that are known to im-
pact on student wellbeing and engagement.
Running this survey will help our school understand parents’ and carers’ perspectives on
their child’s experience at school.
These include:
communication between parents/carers and staff,
activities and practices at home and
parent/carer views on the school's support of learning and behaviour.
This valuable feedback will help our school make practical improvements.
The survey is conducted entirely online at home or on public computers. The survey will
typically take 15 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential and anony-
mous. The parent survey will be conducted between 5 September and 23 September
2016.
Participating in the survey is entirely voluntary, however, your responses are very much
appreciated. The survey is accessible by tablet, computer or smart phone.
To participate in this survey click on the link below.

If you do not have access to a computer or the internet please contact the school and
we will make arrangements for you to use a school computer.

Out and about… on a bike, scooter or skateboard.
As parents and carers, we have a responsibility to keep our children safe when travelling to
and from school.
Your child needs to be supervised by an ADULT up until they are at least 10 years old, when riding
or scooting.
It is the law that your child wears a helmet when riding a bike in any public place.
Think carefully before letting your child ride to and from school… you need to consider the traffic
environment, condition of the bike, your child’s riding ability and behaviour.
