Legislative Liaison Training Sessions

Does your school have a legislative liaison? It should! It is critical that Indiana's non-public schools are prepared to engage legislatively in support of schools and the many students who attend them now and in the future. Legislative Liaisons are INPEA's grassroots network. We anticipate that the 2015 General Assembly session will be a difficult one. It is important that we have structures in place so that the non-public schools voice be heard. With that in mind, INPEA is scheduling regional trainings for liaisons and other interested school leaders (e.g., board members, parent association officers, school administration). Listed below are a tentative list of dates. A few sites still need to be confirmed. Please work to make sure your school is well represented. November 11, 6-7:30pm, Evansville (Catholic Center) November 17, 7-8pm, Fort Wayne (Concordia Lutheran High School) November 18, Indianapolis (To be determined) November 25, 6:30-7:30pm, Kokomo (St. Joan of Arc - South Campus) December 4, New Albany (To be determined) December 9, South Bend December 10, 6-7:30pm, Merrillville (Our Lady of Consolation Parish Hall) Email Rose at rsoliven@inpea.org for additional training session details.

Mary Ann Remick of Rochester, MN, graciously endowed the Program, making it possible for aspiring school leaders to receive world-class leadership formation at an affordable cost. In gratitude for Mary Ann’s commitment to the future of Catholic school leadership, the program was renamed the Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program.

There is overwhelming support of Jupiter Grades There is little desire to maintain relationship with MSP Critical to daily school operations are: Grade Book /Report Card, DOE reporting SMS parent text (School Reach module on MSP) Email blast (School Reach module.) Progress reports and attendance are valued Although many schools have DMC’s some do not. Most want to leave MSP These features are seen as critical and other features are not used or not seen as important

Future decisions? MSP and Jupiter Modular approach

Discussion with MSP to include any school wishing to stay next year. This would include yearly contract and direct billing to school. (rate to be determined.) One data system for all elementary school is widely accepted best practice, however problematic. 2-3 year implementation with pilot schools High schools have different needs. Does OCE develop own DOE reporting tool with mandated use. Data Management vendors must be able to support the Archdiocesan Standards Based Report Card. Continued training and parent education is needed.
