awab Malik’s bold stand was widely appreciated. He Nstood his ground by exposing NCB’s corrupt officers. Now that an extortion angle has entered the narrative,

things are getting obscure and vague. Sameer Dawood Wankhede will no longer be able to escape from going to jail for forgery, if the charges are proven in ongoing investigations but if he carries on in spite of being guilty then understand there is no rule of law in the country.

In UPSC, he had filed the certificate of being a Dalit (SC) i.e. Hindu, at the same time he was signing the Nikahnama by

becoming a Muslim. His Muslim brother-in-law is a witness on that Nikahnama. He cannot say that he was a Muslim at the time of marriage and later became a Hindu and was a Hindu when he got his SC certificate made.

Surprisingly, even after his fraud got exposed, some journalists and assigned IT cell members are defending him and he himself is calling the evidence against him a breach of his family privacy. NCP minister challenged NCB officer Sameer Wankhede to produce his original birth certificate, if he dares to do so Malik would resign from active politics.

Minority Minister Nawab Malik has accused NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede, who is probing the Mumbai cruise drugs case, of getting a job through a fake certificate. Following the allegations of

Nawab Malik, Sameer Wankhede has issued his father and his caste certificate. In the caste certificate, Sameer's father is from Mahar caste that comes in SC. Sameer Wa n k h e d e s h a r e d c a s t e certificate, genealogy, birth certificate, Kotwali register copy, family photo and said that he did not tamper with any documents.

Nawab Malik said in a press conference today that the certificate shared on his Twitter

was the original birth certificate of Wankhede. At the same time, NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede has said that he will come to Mumbai to answer all the allegations made by the minister.

Meanwhile, Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad has given a warning to Marathi actress and Sameer Wankhede’s wife Kranti Redkar who was randomly alleging the government of not allowing her husband to do his duties. Jitendra Awhad said that “when Sameer Wankhede raided a cruise with 4,000 passengers, he found only six people taking drugs. The remaining 3,994 were in order. That's how I got this question. NCB registered many fake cases in which people were implicated and robbed?

newsroom coverage and prime time debates. He showed no maturity w h i l e c o m p r o m i s i n g t h e s e celebrities. See, Karma needs no address, today Wankhede is getting haunted by the same media.

Remember, when Alok Verma was the CBI chief, he had investigated the complaint of taking huge bribes against some CBI officers. Later on, after transferring them, the CBI headquarters were raided overnight and the files and other documents of that alleged bribery were confiscated. After that the case was hushed up by paying quite a lot of money in the BJP party fund and even today the CBI officer is enjoying his service extension. The officers who earn and share their bribery are liked by the governments.

Nawab Malik, has made another big allegation against Sameer Wankhede by issuing a four-page letter which was sent to him by some whistleblower alleging the 26 NCB cases in the last one year in which Sameer Wankhede along with his officers had made extortion. The letter also names the Commissioner of Delhi Police and the then NCB DG Rakesh Asthana.

The letter says recovery was also made from Bollywood actors. Nawab Malik says that he has been

sent this letter by an employee of NCB from the post, after which he has also sent this letter to the DG of NCB so that they too should include the said letter in their investigation.

Nawab Malik, while releasing the letter sent by an unidentified NCB employee, said that ever since Sameer Wankhede was appointed as N C B M u m b a i Z o n a l Director, he has been making fake cases. W h e n R a k e s h Asthana was the D i r e c t o r G e n e r a l o f N a r c o t i c s C o n t r o l Bureau, he had sent an officer of his c h o i c e t o Mumbai as the chief of the SIT to investigate the Sushan t S ingh Rajput drugs case. Along with this, Sameer Wankhede was also made the Zonal Director of Mumbai Zone after taking approval from Home Minister Amit Shah.

After this promotion Sameer Wankhede along with this officer started implicating Bollywood actors in fake drugs cases. The letter has also alleged that Wankhede has

extorted crores of rupees from the film artists after registering the cases. Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone, Karishma Prakash, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan, Bharti Singh, H a r s h L i m b a c h i y a a , R h e a Chakraborty, Shobhit Chakraborty a n d A r j u n R a m p a l w e r e unnecessarily harassed for perks and

publicity. It has been said that the lawyer is a friend of

Sameer Wankhede and used to come

and go to the NCB office without any restrictions. In the letter it is also alleged that S a m e e r Wankhede used t o a p p r o a c h

every actor, and asked them to hire

his lawyer friend f o r f u r t h e r

negotiations. It has also been alleged in this letter

that Sameer Wankhede always implicated innocent people in false cases to get his news published in the media.

Sameer Wankhede had also formed a separate team in which there were many officers and employees of NCB to run their fake raid racket. It has also been written

<<

PAGE 1 in that letter that if less quantity of drugs were found in the possession of the accused, then more quantity of drugs was shown so that the accused could not get bail, unless pays a huge amount as bribe.

It has also been alleged that S a m e e r Wa n k h e d e ’s s o m e henchmen used to provide drugs to him so that drugs could be shown on the arrested accused in false cases. This unidentified NCB employee has alleged in his letter that Riya Chakraborty and Shobhik Chakraborty were implicated unreasonably. It has also been said in the letter that when the people of NCB used to go to the houses of the accused for search, they used to rob them of money and gold ornaments besides extorting money from them.

T h e l e t t e r a l s o m e n t i o n s implicating Nawab Malik's son-in-law Sameer Khan in a false case. NCB arrested Sameer Khan by showing 200 kg of tobacco as ganja. In a way, NCB registered 26 different fake cases in which people were implicated in false cases and sent to jail. Above all lakhs of rupees were also collected from all these people to ease the case. If this letter has to be believed then, there is serious concern. Hope the investigating agencies conduct their unbiased inquiries and expose the wrong doing of NCB officers.

Letters to the

editor‘Cruise Drugs Case’

'Cruise Drugs Case' is a blown up incident, just because Aryan Khan (Son of Shahrukh Khan) was among detainees. Otherwise so many raids are conducted on rave parties and many wealthy youngsters are detained and their case goes on. In Cruise drug case everything has blown out of proportion from Aryan Khan's presence to Cabinet minister's sick bambarding on investigating officer Sameer Wankhede. Actually Aryan Khan may get a bail in day or two as able Advocates are doing their best but the political intereference in this case was not warranted and pressurising a officer on government duty by a cabinet minister is in unheard of.

It is high time to reduce GST- 18% on Health Insurance & 28%

Ambulance purchase on high sideNow a days , it is inevitable for

every one to enroll with one or the other Health Insurance Provider

according to ones own affordability. But fixing GST at 18% is on high

side. When Government is not prepared to waive GST , at least reducing it to 5 % is need of the hour. Especially Senior Citizens find it difficult to pay , as premium as well as tax is high.

Fixing GST on Ambulence Purchase at 28% at par with luxury items is not fair at all. That too at a time of pandemic , when its usage is more than normal to shift patients to Hospitals and back home . This was reduced to 12% in june 2021. It will be more reasonable to reduce it to 5% during the pandemic.

Most of the countries limited the GST to 15% .

I suggest the Government to reduce the present rates of GST - 28% , 18% , 12%, 5 %, 3% , 2.5% to 15% , 11% , 7% and 3% , 2% and 1% in view of the inflation and the the pandemic.

Last but not the least , reduced rates of the GST , ended by September 30th itself as per the statement of Finance Minister .

Reducing the Tax for a limited period of few months ( 3 and half months) is questionable .No one

knows the rationale behind it . I suggest the Government to extend the concessional rate of GST as the pandemic is still continuing . The country has not yet come out of the inflation.

Best wishes to Manjarekar It's really wonderful news for all

Bollywood movie-lovers including me that the renowned film-maker of the industry Mahesh Manjrekar- who has gifted Bolly movie-buffs heart-touching movie like Vaastav - is cancer-free now. Through this letter to Afternoon Voice, I want to wish him very good health. At the same time, I want to convey all my best wishes to him for his next film Antim: The Final Truth, starring Salman Khan.

- Sourish Misra,

Forwarding unverified rumours too is a crime!

People should not believe in rumours which are part & parcel of social media entertainment and most get their wings as WhatsApp forwards which needs to be ignored. The latest rumours going around is the fact that India-Pakistan game was

'Fixed' because our hostile neighbours economy is in a mess & PCB could get sponsorship for their team by beating India brutally. Pakistan Infact played brilliantly & we must applaud their efforts which even captain Kohli acknowledged in the post match press conference.

Another baseless allegation is the 25 Cr demanded by NCB to release Aryan Khan in the drug scandal. Had it been true, Aryan Khan would have been an free bird today. We must respect the law of the land which is powerful enough to challenge any rumours. Forwarding unverified news too is a crime!

Diwali, the festival of lights is knocking on the doors once again this year. It is one of India’s

biggest festivals. It brings with itself an unmatchable excitement and celebratory spirit. It is a festival that signifies the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and hope over despair. However, in recent years, extravagant celebrations have not only put a great strain on the environment, but have also put people’s health at stake. While these celebrations may seem fun, their far-reaching consequences are not. Air pollution levels rise to dangerous levels, energy and food wastage increases exponentially, plastic packaging and cracker debris litters the roads, and several elderly people and animals suffer from anxiety attacks. It’s time we celebrated Diwali responsibly and with minimal environmental consequence. Here are a few ways to ensure that this year’s Diwali is a smokeless, noiseless and a safe experience for all. A little carelessness can become dangerous and the festival of happiness can convert to

pollutants associated with the firecrackers makes it difficult to breathe and are linked to many respiratory problems as well. The loud noises and blinding flashes also give severe anxiety attacks to animals and birds.

Here are some eco-friendly alternatives to crackers:

• Take the neighbourhood children for a walk and collect dry leaves, grass and twigs that you will see on the way. Then celebrate the festival by lighting a bonfire in an open space and serve homemade sweets and sherbet to all. If you don’t have the space for a bonfire, fill colourful balloons with glitter and small pieces of bright coloured paper. Spend the evening bursting them with your family and friends.

• You could also opt for eco-friendly crackers that are made from recycled paper. The noise produced by these crackers is also within the decibel limits set by the Central Pollution Control Board.

• Another way to celebrate Diwali is to substitute candles and electric diyas

with the good old oil diyas that are bio-degradable, cost effective, traditional and very beautiful. Wheat dough, orange peels, coconut shells and seashells are some great options for DIY diyas. Plus, you will also be contributing in reducing the electricity consumption which usually reaches sky high levels during the festival.

Let's celebrate an eco-friendly Diwalitragedy. When playing with fireworks, adult supervision is a 'must'. Every child should play with fireworks only in the supervision of an adult. Children should listen to their parents and guardians when playing with fireworks. They should not play with them alone. Fireworks should always be burnt outside the house, as the sparks from them may damage the household things, if played inside. Sometimes, a small

spark may become the reason for a huge loss.

Always keep a first aid kit nearby when playing with fireworks because in case your hands, feet or any

part of your body gets injured, ointment can be applied

immediately. After the fireworks have

been burnt completely, throw them away at a safe

place as the remains of them are hot. Also, always wear proper footwear while playing with fireworks, as it will protect your feet from the sparks falling onto the ground.

As firecrackers leave the city hazy, noisy and littered with waste the next morning, the best way to celebrate Diwali is to go firecracker-free. The

AAP Mumbai welcomes and supports Maharashtra Minister of State Sanjay Bansode’s decision to adopt Delhi Education Model

he Aam Aadmi Party TM u m b a i t o d a y , welcomed Maharashtra

Minister of State & NCP Leader Shri Sanjay Bansode’s decision to replicate Delhi’s Education M o d e l f o r s c h o o l s i n Maharasht ra . Yes te rday, Minister Sanjay Bansode visited Delhi’s government schools, and was introduced to the novel academic methods, curriculum and administrative practices that have been implemented in Delhi by the AAP. Upon being taken through the newly d e v e l o p e d ' S c h o o l s o f Specialized Excellence' (SoSE) model, the newly constructed laboratories & playgrounds, and the Entrepreneurship and the Deshbhakti curriculum, the Minister went on to attest that Delhi’s Education Model is the need of the hour when it comes

to a model educational policy reform, for Maharashtra, and for India at large.It is a well-known fact that Maharashtra & Mumbai are faced with an a l a r m i n g n e e d f o r transformative educational reform. As compared to more than 16 lakh students studying in Delhi’s 1000 government schools; there are only 2.72 lakh students in the existing 1,145 BMC schools in Mumbai – a numbe r tha t ha s been ominously falling over the last six years. In 2019, Praja warned Mumbai's ruling parties that, if the trend follows, the BMC will h a v e n o n e w s t u d e n t

enrollments by 2028. This is despite the BMC spending an astonishing INR 1,08,000 annually on each student, with nothing to show for it; as compared to INR 1,02,000 spent per student annually under the Delhi government. If the outcomes of such a financial outlay were actually realised, one would expect that students would opt away from expensive private schooling - as in Delhi, where more than 2.4 lakh private school students applied to shift to Delhi’s public schools - which now supersede most private schools in terms of infrastructure and pedagogy. Unfortunately, the situation is far too grim in Mumbai’s schools for this to even be a remote possibility, as the Shiv Sena & the MVA continue to abdicate their responsibility towards public education. In the face of comparable student budget outlays, the difference in the lived realities of our cities'

students forces us to ask – In Mumbai, why have we failed to provide our children with bare minimum standards of quality education for so long, and why is it that education in Mumbai is fast becoming an increasingly private, and subsequently, a privileged institution? While the AAP in Delhi has emphasized on outcome-or iented po l icy m e a s u r e s t o r e d u c e dependence on p r i v a te facilities; while the BMC has shut down, or leased, more than 220 schools to private entities between 2009-2019, disastrously inhibiting access to education for the poor in Mumbai. While we welcome Maharashtra Minister of State & NCP Leader Shr i Sanjay Bansode’s decision to replicate the Delhi Education Model in Maharashtra, we are afraid that this may become one more empty promise under a PR-driven MVA government, and another case of showmanship

with no underlying substance. If public education is to be transformed, it must be backed, at levels of governance, by an honest intent of public welfare, as demonstrated by the AAPs work in Delhi. What separates the AAP is that our policy claims are backed by tangib le outcomes and results." said Sumitra Shr ivastav, AAP M u m b a i W o r k i n g President."When voted to power, this is the revolutionary change that AAP Mumbai seeks to bring to BMC schools, through it's education policy vision. We hope that this is a wake-up call for the Shiv Sena & the BMC administration, which has slowly driven public education in Mumbai to its demise, and must alter its course of action on a war-footing if it wants to steer away from a complete collapse of municipal schools.” said Dwijendra Tiwari, AAP Mumbai Working President.

Niger druggist : NCB Sign fiddles on blank papers

Days after Prabhakar Sail Araked up a controversy by claiming that he was

made to sign blank papers by the NCB a witness in another drug bust case has alleged that he had to go through a similar experience earlier this year.

Shekhar Kamble a Navi Mumbai resident who is a witness in a drug bust case being probed by NCB in August this year claimed that the investigating body took his signature on 10-12 blank papers and later filled it up themselves without informing him about the contents of the Panchanama. Kamble said Sail's recent interview to the media inspired him to speak up and “reveal the truth”. When contacted for a comment on allegations made by Kamble IRS Sameer Wankhede Mumbai zonal Director for NCB said “Hostile. Will comment in court. Matter is subjudice.”

The NCB had earlier this year c o n d u c t e d O p e r a t i o n Thunderbolt, raiding several places and arresting drug peddlers. During an operation at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai in August, they intercepted a Nigerian national identified as Kingsley Ukwueza at a Nigerian community kitchen. Ukwuzea was present there along with around 50 Nigerian nationals who reportedly fled when the NCB team arrived. The agency had said

Ukweuza has International links and is a major MD supplier in Navi Mumbai. Two NCB officials were also injured in the melee. Kamble claimed he is a witness in this case. Kamble claims “I am Shekhar Kamble resident of Navi Mumbai. I am not making any allegations but I want to say that I got cheated (by NCB) in this case. In a Kharghar case number 80/21 a Nigerian was caught. That Nigerian was not a drug peddler. The Nigerian drug peddler who we went to nab pushed us and ran away.”

He continued “Then we went to another place called Nigerian Kitchen. There were 40 to 50 Nigerians here. They raided the building and all the Nigerians started running away. They managed to catch two of them including a boy. They took them to the office and let go of the boy the next day but kept the second person (Ukweuza). He did not have any drugs. They showed 60 grams of MD drugs have been recovered from him. And then three days later, they made me sign on about 10 to 12 blank papers. I asked them to show me the papers. I said I will read them and then sign. But they asked me to sign right away and said they would fill it up later. Thereafter, my friend and I signed the papers and we left.”

High Court adjourns hearing he Bombay High Court Tad jour ned the ba i l hearing of Aryan Khan,

the son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, in connection with the alleged seizure of drugs on a cruise ship till Thursday after Advocate Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh and senior counsel Amit Desai concluded their arguments on Wednesday.

Desai, appearing for Arbaaz, stated that there was no grounds for conspiracy, as alleged by the Narcotics Control

Bureau (NCB). “If there are three unconnected persons coming for the same purpose, that is not conspiracy,” he told the single judge Bench of Justice Nitin W Sambre. He reiterated the arguments made in the case of Aryan, that the W h a t s A p p c h a t s w e r e unrelated to the Mumbai cruise. On Tuesday he had argued that the WhatsApp chats between Aryan and a friend over online p o k e r w e r e b e i n g “misinterpreted” by the NCB as about drugs.

Senior advocate and former attorney general of India Mukul Rohatgi, appearing on behalf of Aryan, had concluded his argument on Tuesday. Rohatgi called his arrest “arbitrary” adding that the NCB had made no recovery from the 23yearold nor conducted a medical examination to show consumption of any narcotic. Dhamecha's lawyer on Wednesday argued that the case against her is “completely bogus” and the NCB has failed to prove who brought the drugs which are being foisted on her.

vaccinated, data available with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporat ion (BMC) have revealed. The civic body has distributed 10k 'My Society, Responsible Society' posters till now with details of respective housing societies, signatures of local ward officers or medical officers and a QR Code.

Officials from the Public Health Department said that there are 22k registered housing societies under the jurisdiction of the

BMC. According to reports, more housing societies are approaching the BMC to get the posters as over 55% of the population here have received both the shots. “While we have 22,000 registered housing societies, the number could be more than 35k as many residential complexes have not formed societies or they are not yet registered with the BMC”

said a senior official from the health department. The civic body had allowed housing societies to tie up with private hospitals and run special vaccination drives following the guidelines issued by the Union government. Pegasus: Justice RV Raveendran to oversee snoopgate tressing that the power of Sthe State to snoop into the “sacred pr ivate

space” of individuals cannot be absolute, the Supreme Court on Tuesday appointed an expert technical committee overseen by a former apex court judge Justice RV Raveendran to examine allegations that the Centre used Israeli software Pegasus to spy on citizens. A three judge Bench led by Chief Justice of India NV Ramana explained that it decided to refuse the Centre's offer to appoint an expert committee to investigate the allegations because “such a course of action would violate the settled judicial principle against bias i.e. that 'justice must not only be done but also be seen to be done'.”

Justice Raveendran would be assisted by Alok Joshi former IPS officer (1976 batch) and Dr. Sundeep Oberoi, Chairman Sub Committee in (International O r g a n i s a t i o n o f Standardisation/International E l e c t r o - T e c h n i c a l Commission/Joint Technical C o m m i t t e e ) . T h e t h re e members of the technical committee are Dr. Naveen Kumar Chaudhary, Professor (Cyber Security and Digital Forensics) and Dean, National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat; Dr. Prabaharan P., Professor (School of Engineering), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, Kerala; and Dr. Ashwin Anil Gumaste, Institute Chair Associate Professor (Computer Science and Engineering),

Indian Institute of Technology. The court said it was

“extremely difficult” to shortlist the members. Many had “politely declined” while others cited personal reasons. The Bench said it has formed the committee with the best intentions to ensure “absolute transparency and efficiency”. The court said it consciously avoids “political thickets” but cannot cower when allegations involve a “grave” threat to the

privacy and free speech of the entire citizenry and raises the possibility of involvement of the government, or even a foreign power, behind the surveillance. The court said the petitions filed before it, including ones by veteran journalists N Ram and Sashi Kumar Editors Guild of India and victims of alleged s n o o p i n g , h a v e r a i s e d “Orwellian concerns” about an all-pervasive technology like Pegasus. The court said India cannot remain mute in the face of Pegasus allegations when other countries across the globe have taken them seriously. The court asked the committee to s u b m i t i t s r e p o r t “expeditiously”. It posted the next hearing after eight weeks.

It said the gnawing fear of being spied on cripples liberty

and has a “chilling effect”. Ordinary citizens, and not just activists and journalists, start to drift towards self-censorship. “Members of a civi l ised democratic society have a reasonable expectation of privacy. Privacy is not the singular concern of journalists or social activists. Every citizen of India ought to be protected against violations of privacy. It is this expectation which enables us to exercise our choices, liberties and freedom. It is undeniable that surveillance and the knowledge that one is under the threat of being spied on can affect the way an individual decides to exercise his or her rights” the Bench also comprising Justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli said in the order.

CBI : 6K Crore Remittance Scam at Bank of Baroda

he CB I o ff i c i a l s on TWednesday apprehended six persons in connection to the

6000crores foreign exchange remittance scam in the Bank of Baroda which was detected in 2015. According to the officials the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also carried out searches at 14 locations in connection with the case. CBI spokesperson RC Joshi said that a charge sheet has been filed by the agency in the Court of Special Judge on 12 December 2015 against then AGM of the Bank of Baroda and then Forex officer of the bank.

The CBI on Wednesday arrested six private individuals Tanuj Gulati, Ish Bhutani, Ujjwal Suri, Hunney Goel, Sahil Wadhwa and Rakesh Kumaras part of its ongoing probe in the case said the officials. The agency in 2015 had booked several officials of the bank and others for allegedly making remittances of over 6000 crores to South East Asian countries by 59 current account holders from the Ashok Vihar branch of Bank of

Baroda in the garb of purported payments of "non-existent" imports. CBI sources said the agency has found that the Ashok Vihar branch was a relatively new branch which had permission to entertain Forex transactions only in 2013.

They said that 6000 crores was transferred through nearly 8000 transactions done between July 2014 and July 2015. The amount remitted in each transaction was kept at less than USD 1 lakh. "All the remittances were made to Hong Kong. The amount was remitted as advance for import and in most of the cases, the beneficiary was the same" an official had said after filing of the FIR. "Most of the foreign exchange-related transactions were carried out in newly opened current accounts wherein heavy cash receipts were observed but the branch did not generate an exceptional transaction report (ETR) and did not monitor the high value transactions" the senior official had said on anonymity.

S Korea's KAI & HHI Sign MOU for CVX

orean Aerospace Industries Ktold the media that it s i g n e d a n M O U

(Memorandum of Understanding) on a CVX of project aircraft carrier project. In the presence of the Vice Chairman of Huindai Heavy Industries, Young-seok Han and the President of KAI, Hyun-ho Ahn, during ADEX (the Seoul Airshow) 2021 on October 19th at Seoul airport in Seongnam city of Gyeonggi Province.

Bo th s ides ag reed to cooperate omni-directionally in fields of a Korean light aircraft carrier's flight operation and

control of fixed-wing and rotary wing aircrafts or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), logistic support system, training system, test and evaluation and so on. The two commonly explained with hope that this strategic cooperation would create a synergy effect in various aspects including the const ruct ion, operat ion, maintenance and development of operational capabilities of the CVX and flights on board, since KAI and HHI possess the best technology and experience in Korea, when it comes to fighter jets and naval ships.

KAI the only major South Korean player in aircraft systems is expected to resolve technical issues related to the operation of fighter jets on board an aircraft carrier which is the most important part in acquiring the CVX considering the significance

of flights on board in combat operat ions . Mar ine- On developed by KAI will also be placed on the first Korean carrier. Also, as KAI has the capability to create simulation materials to nurture flight operators it would help the Korean military improve and nurture necessary human resources for CVX and flights on board. HHI previously revealed a new mock-up of CVX that applied the integrated combat system that could operate UAVs and unmanned surface ships at MADEX 2021 on last June in Busan. HHI also signed a partnership last August with the British Babcock International that played a key role in building the Royal Navy's aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth. HHI's competitor for the CVX project DSME signed a similar alliance ''with Ital ian shipbuilder Fincantieri during MADEX 2021.

Afghan Neighbours gather in Tehrane n i o r o f f i c i a l s o f SA f g h a n i s t a n ' s neighbouring states have

gathered in Iran's capital for a one day conference to discuss the situation in the Taliban ruled country.

The foreign ministers of Iran, P a k i s t a n , Ta j i k i s t a n , Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan met on Wednesday in Tehran, joined by their counterparts from China and Russia via video link. Iranian First Vice P r e s i d e n t M o h a m m a d Mokhber inaugurated the meeting, replacing President Ebrahim Raisi who was unable to do so due to “another u r g e n t p r i o r i t y ” . T h e conference came a day after Iran's online petrol distribution

software was hacked in a massive cyberattack that affected petrol stations across the country.

M o k h b e r t o l d t h e conference that the “defeat of A m e r i c a n p o l i c i e s ” i n Afghanistan does not mean that the United States is abandoning its “destructive” policies across the region. ISIL (ISIS) which Mokhber referred to as the “US proxy force in the

region” has now targeted security in Afghanistan with the aim of instigating a civil war he added. He was followed by the United Nations Chief Antonio Guterres who said in a video link address recorded in New York that Afghanistan is facing an “epic humanitarian crisis” which demands immediate action. He said the UN is engaging the Taliban which has so far provided access to deliver humanitarian relief to people. Guterres also said he is “deeply disturbed” by violations of human rights and attacks in the country since the Taliban takeover and called for efforts to “combat terrorism” and drug trafficking.

2 Senators urge Biden to avoid India sanctionswo United States senators Thave urged President Joe Biden to waive sanctions

against India over its purchase of Russia's S-400 air defence system saying such a punitive measure would endanger growing cooperation.

India signed a $5.5bn deal with Russia in 2018 for five of the surface-to-air missile systems for defence against long-time adversary Pakistan and China with which it is locked in a standoff on their disputed border. But the proposed transfer has caused friction with the US which passed a law in 2017 under which any country engaged with Russia's defence and intelligence sectors could face sanctions.

Republican Senator John Cornyn and Democrat Senator Mark Warner wrote a letter to Biden on Tuesday calling for a waiver on the grounds of national security and broader cooperation. “We believe there is a national security imperative to waiving sanctions” the senators said in their letter which they issued in a press release.

T h e y s a i d t h e y w e re concerned the transfer of the Russian systems would trigger sanctions against India under the Countering America's Adversaries through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) which was enacted to ho ld Russ ia accountable for interfering in US elections cyber-hacking and bullying Ukraine.

Diwali is just around the corner. Diwali,

also known as the festival of lights, is often associated with

prosperity and therefore people prefer to plan and invest their money around Diwali.

Diwali teaches us various important life lessons including the value of togetherness and

maintaining subtle financial discipline in life. Both of these are very important for living and enjoying a balanced life. So, without

further ado, let us discuss about the important financial lessons to learn

this Diwali and make this Diwali a prosperous one.

Start Preparing EarlyDiwali is one of the most prominent festivals in

India. The preparations for Diwali are started months ago before the festival. It is very important to prepare for Diwali in advance to fully immerse in the festive joy. Shopping, decoration, travelling plans all need to be sorted well in advance. Each and every think is carefully planned and then executed.

The same goes with your investments as well. If you wait for the last moment without planning, you will not be able to make the most out of it. It is very important to start your planning as early as possible. For instance, if you are travelling to home this Diwali, you will obviously book your flight in advance. Try booking the same ticket at the final moment, and you will be welcomed by exorbitant prices. You will either pay a higher amount or you will miss the opportunity. In the world of investments too, the earlier you start the better you get.

Invest with the Zeal to GrowDiwali is incomplete without shopping, right?

You shop for your favorite gadgets and appliances on Diwali. You carefully choose the product by researching about the same through internet, friends or any other sources. You also look out for great deals and opportunities in order to get the best value for your money.

The same ideology applies to your investments as well. Investing in the market too requires research and planning. You need to look out for

the right prices for buying a particular stock or commodity. If you plan and research well, you will probably get a good deal. Diwali Neuron is one such service from CapitalVia which helps you plan your investments based on fundamental analysis.

Diversification is the KeyDiwali is a festival of lights, but lights alone

are not sufficient to celebrate a joyful Diwali. Your Diwali celebration should be a perfect blend of shopping, celebration, lights, fireworks and a lot more. It is important to plan your Diwali in such a way that you do not miss out on anything. These are the vital elements for Diwali celebration and having each one of them in the right amount is very important for celebrating a perfect Diwali.

The same formula applies to your investments as well. As per the old saying – Never put all your eggs in the same basket. You should diversify your investment portfolio. Your portfolio should be properly diversified so that it can be hedged against the market risks. You can invest in commodities like Gold and Silver for diversification of your portfolio. Always remember that diversification is the key to a successful investment.

Manage Your Portfolio RegularlyThe first and foremost think that every Indian

household plan before Diwali is the cleaning of their homes and offices. These properties are dusted off and the items which are of no use

now are disposed of. New items are bought or purchased which can be helpful for us in the future. There is a saying that Goddess Lakshmi – the Goddess of money only enters tidy and neat homes.

The same ideology applies to your investment portfolio as well. It is very important to manage your portfolio effectively in such a way that you dispose off all such assets which are unnecessarily lying there and are of no use anywhere. Instead you should plan for new assets which can be helpful for you in the future. The sanctity of your portfolio is very important because your future relies on that. Diwali Neuron can help you in creating an optimum portfolio based on fundamental analysis which can help you make the most out of your investments.

Let Celebration be the Only Noise in Your Life

Diwali is characterized by lighting of lamps and bursting of crackers. The sounds of all these celebrations are strong enough to numb the negativity surrounding you. The divine light of the lamps is known to clear all negative energies form your life.

The same applies to the investment world as well. It is very important to avoid all the unnecessary misconceptions, rumors, myths and half knowledge decisions. Your investment decisions should be based on research and analysis and should not rely on all these noises.

his Diwali is different. TThis Diwali is not about whether my house is

sparkling clean, it is not about whether I have prepared a variety of mithais and namkeens, it is not about whether I have that perfect ethnic attire and jewelry for the occasion, it is not about a bucketful of bucks I would be spending on shopping and firecrackers, it is not about having a grand vacation at an exotic location, it is not even about whether I got a promotion or a raise.

This Diwali is more about survival. It is about being grateful that we are still able to breathe and alive for this day. It is about being thankful for the love and care from our loved ones. It is about being with the family under one roof and spending time together. It is about lighting a diya for all those dear and near souls who left us. It is about extending support and spreading cheer to family and friends who have lost their people. It is about spreading happiness to those who have suffered losses in jobs and businesses and mainly those health workers and frontline Sewaks who did their best during the pandemic.

Diwali is on, so one of the most important things to know. Please do not use alcohol sanitizer on your hands when lighting firecrackers and lighting lamps, as it catches fire very quickly and from a distance, you are at a disadvantage. So you have to take special care of yourself and your children. Dhanteras is celebrated as the birthday of Dhanvantri, father of medicine and ayurveda. The real dhan is our health. So today, let us all pray for each other and our families for the best of health for everyone,

physical, spiritual , emotional and mental.

Diwali is one of the most important Hindu festivals in India, but the colorful customs and meanings associated with it can vary depending on where you travel in the country. In the north, Diwali is often a raucous affair, marked by a cacophony of firecrackers on the streets and a flourish of ceremonial gambling in the home. The wealthier urban dwellers splurge on gold,

jewelry, clothes and expensive gifts such as electronics, which they buy for themselves and their loved ones.

In the quiet villages, such as those dotted around the vast state of Maharashtra in the west of India, the Festival of Lights celebration is generally a simpler affair, defined by humble offerings and wholesome feasts. Few, if any, firecrackers burst and many follow their own particular tribal traditions. Most villagers try to buy new clothes, but few can afford gold, jewelry or elaborate gifts. The annual dates of Diwali are as fluid as the types of revelry you will find. It is generally celebrated for five days, with the biggest day being the third one.

With Diwali round the corner, the Metro cities in India seemed to be having a cracker of a time. In many parts of the country firecrackers were seen lighting

up the sky and it is a merry time. People spend all their time banned. Bonus received is spent on buying cloth and crackers and enjoy the moment with pride. Slack season follows Diwali season and the stock market also comes crashing down for some initial period after Diwali.

Diwali is a Hindu festival of lights, which is celebrated every autumn in the northern hemisphere. One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolises the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. It is time for Diya and lighting, home decoration, shopping, fireworks, puja (prayers), gifts, feast and sweets. Both children and women enjoy every moment of it and men spend the maximum to keep THEIR family in good humor.

Some Diwali rituals are

common across most of the subcontinent. In both the city and countryside, small oil lamps made of clay (diyas) are placed at the thresholds of homes, shops and offices throughout the five-day affair to celebrate the legend of the return of the Hindu god, Lord Rama, to his kingdom after 14 years in exile. According to mythology, his people lit diyas to welcome his return.

Some, however, are concerned that the original traditions of Diwali are being lost in cities. Anyway, Diwali is still considered a festival of lights and with lots of restrictions on firecracker bursting it is better to go green and have more lights than wasting money on firecrackers and celebrate the festival with much pomp and fervor. This Diwali is more about being hopeful, for a healthy and happy tomorrow.

Dhanteras is celebrated as the birthday of Dhanvantri, father of medicine and ayurveda. The real dhan is our health. So today, let us all pray for each other and our families for the best of health for everyone, physical, spiritual , emotional and mental.

Hate Platforms Disintegrating

the Nation

Nowadays, such content is being served on social platforms like

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, which is obnoxious, indecent, violent, misleading and anti-national, whose purpose is not to unite the nation, but to break it. Such people are active on these social forums, who believe in the policy of sabotage, they are ready to do petty acts like character assassinations, abuse and create a chaotic environment by adopting disorderly and destructive policy. Such violence, hatred and misinformation should have no place in a progressive, civilized and decent society, but the irony is that the government is not able to control these chaotic situations due to the Freedom of Expression Act.

Conspiracies to break the country are spreading on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and these conspiracies create a nuisance environment in society. There has been a competition to celebrate these anti-national subversive designs, hate speeches, distorted developments, violence and communalism and dissemination of misleading information. This fact has been revealed by Facebook itself and some American media organizations after their study. The researchers opened accounts on Facebook two years ago and continuously monitored what content was being served on the platform in India. They were surprised to see that they were full of misinformation and hate ideas. Although Facebook claims that it does not publish any objectionable content, it immediately sends warnings and blocks the content to those who do. The question is, why did this system of Facebook spread here? Is Facebook itself responsible for making such a storm of hatred ubiquitous?

Twitter, YouTube, Facebook are said to be the platforms of social interaction, but the amount of political, religious and social hatred being spread on these platforms is worrying. Facebook is unable to stop misleading information, hate speech and celebratory content about violence in

with the aim of character assassination and anarchy.

Governments are creating new chapters for the unity and integrity of the nation, communal harmony and progress - this country has a culture, a heritage; it cannot be defeated by such tricks. It is surprising that despite the intensity and length of opposition, the existence of institutions, political parties, ideologies, and leaders could not come under any threat and those who wrote and presented opposing dialogues could not succeed in their objective. Sometimes it seems that opposition is the destiny of these so-called anti-national elements and political parties. It is strange that no political party gives any explanation on such rumors, information, ideas spread by its workers and no one has taken any measures to discipline and restrain them.

Platforms like Facebook are seamless, where anyone is free to open their account without paying any fees. Nowadays, the Smartphone has come in every hand, due to which many people have become addicted to using this platform unbridled. But this addiction causes harm to the nation. The central government had tried to discipline these social forums in the past, but the constitutional system of freedom of expression is a major obstacle in this. However, these platforms of social media have also been seen playing a positive role for a healthy democracy. They also run the risk of severely undermining the rights of many people who express their views in a healthy manner and bring attention to many pressing issues. But the way in which a large number of unruly, violent, disruptive elements of national and social harmony have become active there, it is natural to be worried. It is necessary to curb them and take strict action against them.

aggressive views by creating accounts in fake names, the atmosphere became polluted and violent. Then not only did party differences start to emerge there, political interests started coming to the fore.

It has become common for one party to oppose the other party, to degrade it, to hinder its progress and to demoralize the parties which set new records of success. If this artificial, misleading and false information of theirs is exposed, then not a single issue is found which touches the factual, theoretical and practical aspect. This is deliberately becoming a means of spreading anarchy and workers of different political parties were seen getting confused in this, rather they started taking pride in spreading excitement by spreading misinformation and hate ideas. Many times its bad results have also been seen, when people under the influence of such thoughts were found committing violence in the form of a mob. People who understand how heinous and anti-national is such an attempt made only

phase and was on the verge of closure, my mentor Steve Jobs (founder of Apple) advised me to visit a temple in India. After returning from there, I gained self-confidence and the company became successful. That's why India is at the top of their 'list'. Just a year ago, again during his visit to India, Zuckerberg indicated that he intended to bring the Internet to the poor. Facebook has set a new example of popularity in India. But India that gave new life to Facebook, would it like to be responsible for breaking the integrity of that country?

Social platforms like Twitter, YouTube, Facebook were developed with the aim of helping people to communicate with each other, express healthy and free thoughts and establish mutual harmony. Powers and political parties envious of India's progress made it the medium of their propaganda and the fulfillment of so-called narrow interests. There is hardly any political party in India which does not have official accounts on Facebook. There is no error in having official accounts, but when his supporters, activists started expressing their party's

India, according to internal documents of Facebook, but the big question is why it is not able to stop? Is this a sign of a conspiracy against India? The question is also whose interest is being served by this kind of misleading, disorderly, destructive and hate-mongering policy? It is strange that such trends have increased rapidly in India.

The fact is that only five out of twenty-two languages in India have been screened and analysed by Facebook through artificial intelligence. Even in big languages like Hindi and Bangla, it has no way of analysing the content served. Obviously, this has given an open ground to the rowdy and narrow minded people, who want to break the conditions of peace and harmony of the country or give shape to their narrow interests. There has also been a conspiracy to influence elections through this misleading information.

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder-CEO of Facebook, said that "India is of great importance in the history of Facebook. When the company was going through a bad

Dr. Crane and Mrs. Hughes are joining forces. Frasier star

Kelsey Grammer and Downton Abbey's Phyllis Logan are uniting for high concept thriller No Way Up being introduced to buyers at next week's American Film Market by Altitude Film Entertainment.

Described by the filmmakers as a “rollercoaster combination of disaster movie and survival thriller” No Way Up follows two characters from very different backgrounds that are thrown together when the plane they are traveling on crashes into the Pacific Ocean. The stricken airliner comes to rest perilously close to the edge of a bottomless ravine with the surviving passengers and crew trapped in an air pocket. With their air supply rapidly running out a nightmare fight for survival ensues as dangers from all sides hone in on them.

The film will be directed by Claudio Fäh from a screenplay

by Andy Mayson with further casting set to be announced. A spring 2022 shoot is planned in Malta. Fäh whose credits include 'Northmen - A Viking Saga' as well as two entries in

Other producers include BAFTA winner Annalise Davis ('Up There', 'The Railway Man') and Molly Conners ('Birdman', 'Frozen River', 'Butcher's Crossing'). “No Way Up is a gripping story of survival in the extreme” said Fäh. “A rollercoaster ride filled with suspense and thrills, with a group of wonderfully crafted characters who are driving this story overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles. To bring them to life with a cast of this calibre is a wonderful opportunity.”

hani Anthem got Greleased a while back. The lyrical song of 4

minutes takes us into the journey of Varun Tej. The music is high on energy and it is Ramjogayya

Shastry words that elevate the song further pumping up the adrenaline rush. The song is crooned by a bunch of singers Aditya Iyengar, Sri Krishna, Sai Charan & Prudhvi Chandra.

Thaman's BGM has accentuated the motivational words. Going by the visuals we have seen Varun Tej prepping hard as a boxer who is supervised by coach Sunil Shetty. Varun Tej's beefed-up look is visible. The actor underwent rigorous boxing training and worked on his looks too. The visuals have been shot at a hill station and Ghani Anthem rightly packs a punch that suggests that Varun Tej is all ready for the boxing fight. The sports drama is directed by Kiran Korrapati.
