Parish Council News
Spreading the word The Parish Council is seeking to build a community emailing list for keeping as many as possible informed on current issues, particularly planning. Many people have already expressed an interest in being included, so if you or your family would like to be added, please forward your email address to: [email protected] We look forward to hearing from you.
We would like to thank Pauline Ryan for all her help in collecting news and editing the Bulletin. This will now be taken over by Shirley Lockwood, email [email protected]
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH
Why not visit our web page? Did you know there is lots of important security information and links on the NHW web page of the Orston Parish website?
The latest items include news from the October quarterly meeting with the Neighbourhood Police Team, an explanation of the law relating to illegal occupation of land by gypsies and travellers, plus government guidelines on using “Domestic CCTV”.
The web page also has important links to security advice, including:
• Rural crime
• Protecting your valuables
• On-line safety
• Keeping safe from scams and rogue traders
• Shed protection
• Bicycle security
• Domestic oil tank protection
Contact details for the police and your NHW Street Coordinators are there too.
To access the page go to ‘orstonparish.co.uk’. At the top of the ‘home’ page click on ‘Info’ then scroll down and select ‘Neighbourhood Watch’.
Please have a look.
PLEASE NOTE It’s very important to report crimes as otherwise rural communities may not be given the required level of resourcing they deserve.

Informal French
Conversation Group
Fancy improving/keeping up your
French?
This is not a class, so complete beginners
might find it boring (but are still welcome
to come for a drink!) Usually people chat
in pairs/groups, discussing anything of
mutual interest - the key thing is to try to
communicate only in French!
We meet on the 2nd Thursday of the
month (Bingham - Wheatsheaf) and the
4th Wednesday of the month (Orston -
Durham Ox), any time from 7.30pm
onwards.
