JOYS & CONCERNS Please hold Paul & Barb Sanderson and family in your prayers as they grieve the death of Paul’s brother Peter. Peter died Feb. 16 in Colorado. Please hold Judy Temme and the Owens family as they grieve the death of Judy’s sister, Bonnie Lou Owens, who died Feb. 20. A memorial service will be Feb. 26 at First Presbyterian Church in Wayne at 2 p.m. We rejoice with the Spahn & Scow families at the birth of Brooklyn Michelle, daughter of Kim (Spohn) & JD Scow, who was born Feb. 22. Kim is the daughter of Connie Spohn and niece of Cola & Gene Hahn, Janet Lyon, and Annette & Bob Griffith. We celebrate with the Wheatley, Aerni, Mares, and Johnson families the wedding of Elizabeth (Lizzie) Wheatley and Daniel Johnson, held here at Federated Church yesterday. Lizzie and Dan live in Holdrege. Please hold Cynthia Irby, daughter of Bill & Carolyn, as she faces a cancer diagnosis. Please pray for Clare, daughter-in-law of Rev. Don and Joy Wilson, receiving treatment for breast cancer.

Bible Studies & Christian Education

Tuesday Christian Book Discussion Group is viewing 30 minute lectures by Bible scholar Bart Ehrman, on the topic, "How Jesus Became God". All are welcome at 7a.m. for breakfast and discussion.

Adult Education Series: Questions of Jesus will resume next week, Sunday, March 5 in the Sanctuary at 10:45a.m. for Bible study and discussion.

Book Exchange Youth Mission Fundraiser will continue till the end of Feb. Find a book to enjoy and/or donate books to share. Free will donations support the Youth Summer Mission Trip to Colorado.

Special Events Sunday, FEBRUARY 26th: BEACH BRUNCH after the congregational meeting! Cast off the cold and “pretend” you are at the beach---at Federated! With this, the February “fun”raisers are over! This brunch benefits the Alumni mission trip to Cuba and asks for a free will offering. Thanks for supporting alumni!

Women’s Fellowship meets March 8 - Board meeting at 4:30p.m. in Room 8 followed by a Fellowship Gathering with a meal at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Tamra Boettcher will present a program about her Mission Trip to Nicaragua. All are welcome!!! Call Cec to reserve a meal, or come at 6:30 for the program.

The Needlecraft Ministry is again asking for men’s or women’s t-shirts, sizes large or larger and for colorful, good, used sheets to make hospital gowns. They may be left in the church office. Any questions, ask Louise Moran 402-564-5745.

Women’s Fellowship: Reading any 4 books from the 2016-2017 PWHP reading lists qualifies for recognition at the Area Spring Gathering in 2017. You may include reading from previous lists, Horizons Magazine and Presbyterians Today. Turn in your list of books read to Marilyn Vrana, 402-563-3265 by March 1. A complete list of books is in the WF shelving of the Church Library.

Saturday, March 25 at 10 a.m. - Julie Shrader, President of Rejuvenating Women, will speak at Federated Church. The goal of Rejuvenating Women is to increase awareness of sex trafficking in Nebraska, its impact on women and the community, the importance of identification of human trafficking in Nebraska, and what is currently being done to assist victims to help them heal. Sponsored by Federated’s Social Concerns & Missions Committee.
