2 Overview Each of the TIBCO products offers an installation guide well suited for installing that given product in a standalone

fashion. However, our Field staff and customers often install multiple products together required to compose an end-to-

end solution. Given the large number of products, the various released versions of these products, subtle

dependencies between products, co-existence of products becomes very challenging in an integration environment.

The goal of this document is to outline co-existence of multiple TIBCO products in an integration environment such that

we help our product users reduce the unnecessary trial and error and compatibility issues. As such, this document will

not cover all possible supported and unsupported product co-existence combinations. Rather, we will outline a set of

common scenarios and recommendations.

This document is intended for TIBCO Global Support and Field organization. Do examine exact customer requirements

for applicability prior to applying recommendations described in this document.

3.1 Design Time Co-Existence Scenarios:

3.1.1 TIBCO AMSG 3.1.3 and TIBCO ActiveMatrix BWSE 5.9.2

The order of installation is as follows:

1. TIBCO EMS 6.0.1

2. TIBCO AMSG 3.1.3 Design Time

3. RV 8.3.1

4. TIBCO Runtime Agent 5.7.1

5. TIBCO ActiveMatrix Business Works 5.9.2

6. TIBCO ActiveMatrix BWSE 5.9.2 Design Time (DABS 1.3.1).

When installing one product on top of other product, if the new features which are being installed are already

installed by previous product and are existing in the TIBCO_HOME, installer gives a YES/NO popup, asking user to

select either YES option to reinstall existing features or NO option to keep the existing features and not to reinstall

them. User can select any option (YES or NO) and proceed with the installation. Both YES and NO options should work

fine for all the scenarios except for section 3.3.6, where Admin Server creation fails if YES option is selected. Please

refer section 3.3.6 for more details.

If you are using 64-bit installer for AMSG+BWSE+BPM Runtime, we recommend using different

TIBCO_HOMEs for design time and run time as TIBCO AMSG design time is not supported in 64 bit product installer.

For Design time, use 32-bit installers of all above products.

All the products are installed under same “TIBCO_HOME”
