Tick

Ticks are notorious for carrying diseases that can be passed to both animals and humans. The tick population is increasing and we (humans) are helping to bring the ticks closer to us and our pets. The most well-known and some of the most dangerous diseases from ticks are Lyme disease and Rocking Mountain spotted fever. Both of these diseases can be passed to both animals and humans.

Ticks love to use deer as a host. As we build more and humans move further onto the land deer once grazed upon, the deer are having to move somewhere else, often bringing them closer to humans and pets.

Round 1Find a deer to latch on to (give the deer a card)Round 2Find a dog to latch on to (give the dog a card)Round 3Move back to your seat and sit down. You have no more cards.

Deer

Deer once roamed the meadows and forests across the country, but we are quickly forcing the animals out of their homes as we build on their land. Deer are wonderful and peaceful animals, but they are not meant to live near humans. Deer often carry ticks that then can move from the deer onto another animal or human. Deer are now often found in our gardens eating plants humans planted.
