We have a base of 29 active mentors in TiE Rajasthan

Mentors are connected to startups in a methodical way and on a regular basis

Startup Origin is a special category of membership created to streamline the mentoring requirements of young startups

A mentoring clinic was also setup during our flagship event- Smash Up

Smash Up

TiE Rajasthan's Flagship event- Smash Up-By the Start-ups, For the Start-ups saw a turnout of over 150 Start-ups.

The segments included Mentoring Clinic, Speed Dating with Investors and Open Pitches, business plan presentations & startup tales

Speakers ranged from women entrepreneurs, innovators and young e-tailers to foodpreneurs.

The keynote Speaker, Parikshit Dhar of 'Book my Show' fame spoke of his amazing story of growth to a US$ 300 million valuation.

TiE Executive Directors Forum TiE Rajasthan organized the

Executive Directors forum- a two day brainstorming session for TiE India chapters to ideate and share their best practices

Participation of 11 chapters in India.

The forum enabled Chapters EDs collaborate and work together to bring TiE to the forefront and promote Entrepreneurship nationally.

Partnerships TiE Rajasthan has partnered with-

KPMG for regular knowledge sessions. The first event was held on “Indian Budget’ in Feb 2015

NASSCOM, the largest trade organization for software , IT-enabled/BPO services and e-commerce , for regular knowledge sessions. Three sessions have already been held this year

Startup Oasis a joint initiative of RIICO (http://www.riico.co.in/), Government of Rajasthan’s industrial promotion organization & IIM Ahmedabad, CIIE accelerator (http://www.ciieindia.org/) for incubating startups and mentoring them during their incubation.

TiE International B-Plan Competition

Participation of 34 teams from various colleges

Top colleges of Rajasthan including Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS )Pilani, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur, Indian Institute of Management (IIM )Udaipur, Lakshmi Narayan Mittal Institute of Information Technology(LNMIIT), Jaipur, Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur

TiE Rajasthan organized a Boot camp, where 16 shortlisted teams were mentored intensively and 8 teams were selected for the regional finals.

Each team was assigned a mentor and the subsequent Regional Finals had 4 victorious teams who represented TiE Rajasthan for the National Level in Delhi in Feb' 15.

TYE Young Entrepreneurs TiE Rajasthan had an

outreach to smartest children from 11 schools & 28 teams were shorlisted to participate in this competition.

With dedicated mentoring from the TiE fraternity, teams worked hard and displayed high quality of innovation & entrepreneurial skills.

Top 4 teams presented a working prototype for which a separate competition was held

Tech4raj- Impact through innovative use of Technology

TiE Rajasthan in partnership with Startup Oasis showcased ‘Tech4Raj’ - A competition to scout, award and support early stage entrepreneurs

Teams working in domains of Water, Agriculture, Healthcare, Education, Energy, Smart City and Livelihood were eligible to apply.

The criterion was to have a potentially large impact through innovative use of technology. 

Of the 46 entries received, 12 teams were shortlisted for the final presentations, of which 4 stood out victorious.

Prarambh- 32 Hour Hackathon To Foster the spirit of entrepreneurship within the student

community ,TiE Rajasthan sponsored the 32 hour start-up challenge at one of the most prestigious colleges in India - the Indian Institute of Management – Udaipur (IIM-U)

It was a high energy Hackathon where 32 participants formed 8 teams to produce a MVP

The top two teams were offered incubation at the IBM incubation center

Entrepreneurship course at MNIT TiE was instrumental in pushing Malviya National

Institute of Technology (MNIT) (a top engineering college in Jaipur) to start a one year course on entrepreneurship for all its students

The course carries 3 credits for each semester

All faculty members are highly successful entrepreneurs

Two workshops conducted by Rajneesh Bhandari-Presdient TiE Rajasthan on Idea generation & lean-startup

Partnership with Top Institutes TiE conducts programmes throughout the year with the mission to foster,

encourage and support entrepreneurship in the state

Various teams from all the prestigious institutes of Rajasthan, like IIM Udiapur, IITJodhpur , BITS Pilani, LNMIT, MNIT, etc. are its participants

Some of the key annual programmes include TIBPC, SMASH UP, Tech4raj, Prarambh

TiE promotes the entire life cycle of a startup from conceptualizing, forming, mentoring, growth and funding

TiE provides resourceful Speakers, Judges and Mentors for events based on promoting entrepreneurship

TiE partnered with RAIN (Rajasthan Angel Investors Network) provides angel funding for suitable start ups

Mentor prospective start ups and work concurrently with E Cells of the institution

TiE Rajasthan has partnered with StartUp Oasis- which is a joint initiative of RIICO – Government of Rajasthan’s industrial promotion organization & IIM Ahmedabad, CIIE accelerator for providing mentoring to startups during their incubation.

TiE Rajasthan is launching an accelerator by June 2015. It would constitute of 2 batches of 12 startups every year. Discussions are ripe with IIM Ahmadabad CIIE accelerator to be our knowledge partner.

Investments by TiE members have come together to form Rajasthan Angel

Investor Network (RAIN) a group of Angel investors in Jaipur interested in investing in early stage startups. Two startups have been funded by RAIN in the last one year-

1. Blue Box Media P Ltd - It operates two online portals namely, ‘The Tech Portal’ and ‘Spring Tide’. It is first of its kind digital media startup. The Tech Portal focuses on reporting news on global technology and Indian tech startups. Spring Tide provides platform to the curbed and unheard voices of the Indian youth in the form of an online magazine. 2. Locus Transit P Ltd (Chaloge kya) - is a mobile application which connects Auto drivers to commuters. This Uber like application allows user to locate and call the nearest auto drivers. http://chalogekya.com/

A new membership was started in August 2014 called ‘Startup Origins’ meant for startups less than 2 years, for which we already have 28 registered members

This membership provides young startups entrepreneurial support with access to TiE mentoring, knowledge sessions, workshops and more

The objective is to provide a mechanism to directly support the creation of scalable startups

Increase in Charter Members

TiE Rajasthan has shown an impressive growth in the number of Charter Members in 2014

Total Charter Members in 2014– 54

Increase by 13 – 30 % increase in Charter Member base

100% renewal

The criteria for selection of charter members is stiff and comes with a steep entry fee of Rs. 1,00,000 (approx $1600 )

Annual fees of Rs 40000 ( $650 ) is one of the highest amongst chapters in India

TiE Rajasthan office is presently undergoing a facelift

With new modern technology, the office would

now have a swanky video conferencing setup and a conference room with the latest amenities and facilities to conduct sessions keeping up with the latest trends

Formation of 14 Committees Being one of the most diverse chapters TiE Rajasthan

decided that instead of having SIGs, comprehensive committees be formed.

14 committees with a Chair each has been appointed to ensure deliverables are achieved and engagements is enhanced

Each Committee has 2 -3 TiE Members who form a team to ideate and execute deliverables

Executive committee The executive committee was expanded to 17 members Regular meetings are conducted every alternate month Past president’s are permanent invitees ( probably the only

Incubating TiE Udaipur Rajneesh Bhandari, President TiE Rajasthan met around 15

entrepreneurs who have shown their willingness & intent to form a TiE Udaipur chapter.

The TiE Rajasthan Executive committee had proposed the formation of Udaipur chapter on approval by TiE Global. It was then decided that TiE Rajasthan should encourage & nurture the formation of the TiE Udaipur chapter

Applications have been received from 16 prospective CMs and they have been approved by the executive committee. These founder members of the proposed TiE Udaipur Chapter have been made CMs of TiE Rajasthan for a year.

TiE Rajasthan will help form a committee so that events can be conducted at Udaipur

Once the minimum requirements as per TiE Global have been achieved, TiE Rajasthan will recommend the formation of TiE Udaipur Chapter to TiE Global.

There is an increase in the gross revenue from 2013 to 2014 of $ 30,300 which is 60% more than last year
