Reps: 5 Hold: 60 Stand on one foot with the injured leg hanging at the edge of a step. If you are unable to balance on the one leg, use a chair or hold onto a counter while performing this exercise. Let your leg hanging down while you do small circular motion. Wrap an ankle weight/elastic around your ankle to help the traction. Reps: 1 Hold: 15 Lay on back with your hip flexed at 90 ° with a band wrapped on the crease of the hip. Place the other end of the band around the opposite foot. Create tension by straightening the unaffected leg. Using your arms, gently rock the banded hip side to side to create a stretch in different parts of the hip capsule. Notes : These are great exercises to do to help take some pressure of the arthritic joint and increase mobility of the joint. Only push until there is a gentle stretch and avoid pushing into the pain. We just want to mobilize and traction just before the point of pain. Over time you will find you can mobilize further with less pain. You may need a partner to help with some of these mobilization techniques.
