aqaddum and Al Asad air bases Iraq in

support o Operation Iraqi Freedom, an

experience which helped solidiy my love

or this country and the military. In 2005, I

honorably nished my active duty service

in the Marine Corps and enrolled in the

Airway Science Program at exas Southern

    University, graduating Magna Cum Laude

On this past uesday, we saw ourpper-class graduate and become

mmissioned oicers. It was a thrillr all o us, made all the sweeter

y knowledge that we contributedmuch to such a great ceremony.

We all prepared as best we could orl the events and in the end wereanked and congratulated or theeat job Class 11-

5 did.I got the privilegebeing in the

mmand post orost o the two

ays. I got see howard everyone wasorking to do theirart and what aeat job they were

    oing. I developednewound

    ppreciation orcountability as I

w Os Muskalla and Pastrovichmehow manage to keep track oeryone. he computer upgrade theght beore threw us or a loop, anddid the Oicers Club delaying

pening or an hour. Fortunately Mauss was always able to comerough with the names o available

olunteers, and more importantlyery class member showed the

exibility and adaptability that willrve us well as oicers.he second day our experiences

arned rom day one showed howr we had come in such a shortme. All o 11-05 contributed toe commissioning ceremonies

oing so well, and we again rose toeet challenges. Every individual

olunteer perormed their part well,nd those who were conronted

with problems were able to think ontheir eet and ensure the ceremonies

were o the highest quality. hoseo us in the command post got towatch the ceremonies on AU V andwere blown away by how everyonemanaged to pull together.

he events culminated in theparade. his was only opportunity

or some o thecommand post stato leave that roomduring the two days.

he weather wasperect, to the relieo everyone andI know Ill neverorget the shout ojoy when the 2ndLieutenants threwtheir caps into theair. In act I know

at least one 2ndLieutenant was so

excited he had prepared his cap witha twenty dollar bill and a 341 orm.he looks on their aces aterwardswhen they shook our hands andwished us luck was inspirational, and made me think o how ar wevecome already.

I want to thank everyone whoparticipated or all o their time, work and patience (especially withthe schedules). I would like tosingle out the leads or each event, who were in on the planning romday one, and took great notes ortheir successors. Im sure they willmake our graduation on May 27th asgreat when they brie 11-06 on theirresponsibilities.
