 establishment and expansion of a:
research network with companies, research- and educationinstitutions on the topic:
 Timber Construction
 RENEWABLES
 further development of a:
timber system for multi-story constructions including insulation materials from renewable resources (sustainable, energy-efficient, affordable, durable, comfortable (acoustics, air quality))
FTI Programm Lower Austria - aims
12
Efficient know-how and technology transfer to companies
along the value added chain "of multi-story timber constructions“: cooperation with Companies, institutions for research and dissemination of knowledge to universities, technical colleges, technology transfer organizations and associations
Project Focus:increase the use of renewable resources

R&D: acoustic insulation in building constructions
Constructions/components with secure acoustical characteristics are required.
Increase the product quality by analysis and optimization of company-specific structures
 at low frequencies (<100 Hz)
identify and analyze sensitive details of their constructions
planning tool to forecast the acoustical performance of their wooden structures
finally optimize their exterior wall constructions with the focus "low frequency range“
including the manufacturing technology and its employees (= trainings)

building servicesin multi-story timber constructions
The method of planning and installing building services in conventional solid constructions cannot be used for multi-story timber constructions!
Solutions
The consortium will develop - across all disciplines-adequate building service concepts
 an interface concept
a best-practice business model (in particular for pre-fabrication installations in multi-story-buildings)
a planning guide will be developed.
