1. Timber Creek Families Can you believe it is April already? I hope you were able to join us at our first ever spirit night at Pot Belly Sandwich Shop, it was so great to see so many Timber Creek faces. April is such a busy month at Timber Creek and we jump right into the month with STAAR testing begin- ning April 1st. In an effort to ensure all students have a snack and at the request of Mrs. Acosta, PTA will be providing ALL students (grades 3 5) with snacks for the upcoming STAAR tests. On April 9th, fourth and fifth grades will be hosting our final Staff treat day of the 2013-2014 school year. In preparation for Staff Appreciation Week in May, you will be able to find some information in this months issue of Tiger Tails. The evening of April 10th we will be able to enjoy the Kindergarten performance, you will be able to see how much our wonderful Kindergarten students have changed since they entered the doors of Timber Creek. Also on the night of April 10th is our election meeting for the 2014-2015 Timber Creek Elementary PTA Board. Did you know that your PTA is committed to parent education, family engagement, and advocacy? We are committed to your kids. For those of you returning to Timber Creek for the 2014-2015 school year, you should receive the PTA packet for the upcoming school year this week. This packet will include the 2014-2015 PTA Membership form, Pre-Sale T-shirt orders to save you money and the 2014-2015 school supply kit orders, as well as new communications sign ups. Over the next few months, we will be reflecting on this year and looking at refining processes and procedures at Timber Creek as necessary. One important way you can assist us in planning for a successful future is by reviewing and making any necessary changes to your childs Skyward information. A bright pink note will be coming home in the report card on Friday, April 4, with details. There will also be a green note from me with a new procedure in place regarding parent input for class lists next year. Please read both items carefully and make any updates or include any information as necessary. We appreciate your partnership in this educational journey! I would also like to compliment the fathers and male role models that have joined us for a day at TCE as part of the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program. This new TCE program has been made possible by the generous support of our PTA and our counselor, Mrs. Fields. The feedback from the volunteers, students and teachers has been incredible. The students in particular, beam with pride when they see their dad join in the activities on cam- pus. Mrs. Fields is always sure to provide a schedule that will keep the volunteers actively participating in arrival, dismissal, classroom assistance, lunch and recess duties and whatever else she can fit into the day!
