to use Modbus Plus fast fi eldbus for a distributed
I/O network instead of Ethernet. Modicon Quantum
CPU has an embedded Modbus Plus port.
Modbus Plus combines high-speed communication
with easy implementation to simplify data sharing
by nodes across a network. Modbus Plus is able
to handle communications for real-time control
devices like I/O and drives, and its performance
is not degraded due to loading or traffi c. With
optional fi ber optic cabling, the total length of the
network can be increased to as much as 3 km. I m p r o v e t h e o p e n n e s s o f y o u rs y s t e m w i t h M o d b u s T C P a n d O D V A> Modbus TCP is now part of ODVA
organization. The simplicity and openness
of Modbus can easily be combined with
the advanced capabilities of Ethernet/IP.O p t i m i s e t r u c k m a n a g e m e n t> Ositrack RFID enables optimised management
of quarry trucks. It is used to record material
requirements of each truck. The driver simply
presents his card against the Ositrack aerial.
